just dropped maloney last night. had decided to go no midpircers besides burger. was hoping embley would take a few weeks so i could upgrade a rookie to him if he fired.

He'll be very underdone, I'm waiting to see how he goes and might bring him in on the bubble

West Coast have a weakened midfield with injuries, can they afford to vest Embley? Surely he's good for a whole game, he did have a full pre-season with just that minor hamstring strain.

West Coast don't have a weakened midfield
Wellingham wasn't even in the team last year for starters.
They were talking about this on the radio last night and listed the players missing v players gained.
From the 2nd Derby last year we are missing Lynch,Nic Nat and Rosa(I think was the other)
We have gained LeCras,Kennedy,Cripps,Glass (also didn't play that game)and there was another player as well
So how is the midfield weakened?

We beat you by 11 goals that day  :P

I think the comment is that your midfield is weakened compared to your best lineup.
Excluding Wellingham, you've lost Kerr and Rosa with Embley underdone and the 2nd best ruckman in the comp also missing. You've gained 2 fwds, a young mid and one of the best defenders in the comp.

Glass was out tho Rico geez lol

Anyway I think everyone is underestimating Embley he missed (it was either) 1 or 2 training sessions and as I said before has been fully training for the nearly the last 2 weeks.
I'm taking a punt on him because he is playing and is safer than waiting for a rookie to play.

Love to fit him in but already have 1 midpricer and it messes my structure too much if I get Embley too. Will keep a very close eye on him.

Embley being named is a relief for my team. Even if he only plays 3/4, he'll have done enough for me.

Yeah he only needs to score a 65 to satisfy me. Interesting stat, when you exclude last year, Embley hasn't averaged under 80 since 2002 (1999 was his debut year).

but you can get 65 from a rookie (if you pick the right one) for half price

Will lock him in at M6 worth a punt....Especially when there is no certainty for rookies to get a game this year...... If he doesn't go well will downgrade him to best breakout rookie...

Barra17

Traded down Moloney to Embley. Allows me to have better mids and a 4 premo backline. Lets go Embers!

You can get vested scores of 10-20 from a rookie as well, meanwhile Embley will build to his usual 80-95 average. If I do prefer the look of a rookie after this round I can downgrade and raise cash to more than likely solve another mid-priced risk I took (Leuenberger anyone?!). I just can't go past the fact so many WCE midfielders are out and his injury was a light one, he never had the chance of a practice match to prove that though. Regardless, he came back from injury with a bang last year and was doing PB time trials this pre-season.

Very likely that Lycett will get subbed off to give WCE more run, with Hams, Cripps and Shepperd the very likely candidates to start with a green vest on. Hams hasn't played since Round 1 of the NAB Cup and is very lucky to be in the 22, so I would put good money on him starting with a green vest.

This wont be a popular comment but i think he is a good chance of a vest. Embley is one of those impact players that could easily come on for the last quarter and turn the game. If not the green vest the red is a possibility as he's coming back from injury and he's no spring chicken (he could still score well if he gets the red after 3 quarters). I have had him all year up until the injury and if he is fit and named for round 1 he might make it back into my team but i cant say im not nervous about the vest possibility.

i will run naked in my street if he gets the vest.
Ok Charliesheen your running naked down your street tonight ...  :o
