What role is Karnezis going to play this year in the Brisbane side ?
What role did he play yesterday ? (scored well).
Thought I heard earlier in the year he may have been getting a midfield role ?
Has anyone got any thoughts/info on him ?

nrich102

He's been playing mid. But will not be featuring in my team.

Why is that "nrich102", what are your concerns with him ?

nostradamus

he's been mainly wing, but has also been running off half-back and drifting forward too.......very friendly DT role.

A very hard match-up too beacause of his height and massive tank

Hagebear

Yeah have been keeping an eye on him and scored really well again yesterday. Just not sure how long he'll keep this role for. Byrnes and knights aren't slamming the door down just yet so he's a big chance to get a game in my side.

I have been thinking about this guy too. From left field and a big risk for sure, also worth a note that when he went back to play at NEAFL level in 2012, he began that role and averaged 28 disposals.

Do you all think he will continue in that roll throughout the season proper ?

The way is playing atm, you would think he's an extremely good chance.

I reckon he could break out but, it would probably be better to gone safe and go with one of Knights, Varcoe or Byrnes

you could always just swap back to them if he stinks it up in the first 2 rounds anyway

I've got Varcoe........ looking for another good mid price option, Karnezis could be it ?

I'm a lions supporter, and I'd love to see him play regularly, but I think he'll be inconsistent. Im also not sure how much game time he'll get.

Karnezis was sent to NEAFL to try and increase endurance which was found wanting in the Senior games he played. Was placed in the Midfield to increase this endurance and he averaged 28 possessions. Has worked well in the off season as well and now reaping the benefits with good displays in the NAB Cup.

Really putting pressure on for selection in Round 1.  Watched the game on stream yesterday and he was floating across half back line and a link going forward.  He also drifted forward as well.  In summary seemed to have a roving commission to run loose.  Only downside for SC Teams is if selected may push Docherty out.

If selected I think he would be a lock as a mid price forward as I think he would be better options than Varcoe, Brynes or Knights.

Scoring well against gws in a nab cup game doesn't quite impress me. Sort of player that's only ever one bad game away from being dropped. Byrnes and varcoe etc have much better js
