I love how people think Ablett will do good if not improving despite having no reasons for this while I can supply multiple reasons for his downfall.

119 I'm thinking, third highest average behind swan and pendlebury imo

yorgis

how is it possible to predict an average of exactly 119. no logic, just a stab in the dark. if you think it will be in the range

of 110-120, ok, but 119 on the dot, really

bslinger

There's a reasonable case for and agasint ablett's dt downfall.  Of course Ablett will do good, he's great. Should at a bare minimum average 115. I'm anticipating around the 120 mark for the bald gun this year.

None of your multiple reasons are legit though mate, all they are opinions to convince yourself. See you have Cox now so wont be long and you'll have Gaj aswell. :P

I never said Cox wouldn't be top 2 rucks. I just said I didn't like the pick for the pure purpose of dpp and that he'll drop in average, both of which I still agree with.

>The rise of young guns such as Swallow, Bennell, Prestia, Russell, Stanley, Horsely
>Recruitment of Broughton, O'Meara and Lonergan
>Return to form of Brennan and Risky

>GC want to wean off their dependance on him
>Getting old
>Contract is ticking, strong rumours on return to Geelong or another Vic club

I guessed Gary's average for the year, that's all. It was a complete stab in the dark :P

As he was affected by: Selwood, Kelly etc

A defender that most probably will play a la Birchall should help him, and two rookies that will have limited paying time

And what do you base this on? Wishful thinking?

Absolutely irrelevant, just trying to convince yourself.

You forgot: Jukes' bias

But all this is fine, as I said in another post the more people you convince Gary is a dud, the better for me.

1) Swan Pendles score well in a gun midfield, Gaj did it with Geelong aswell
2)Dont se broughton as a threat, not playing much mid time at all. O'Meara,Lonergan answered above.
3)Answered above

4)Yes GC want to wean off the dependance of Gaj getting inside ball but will free him up to get alot more outside ball and be just as damaging if not more aswell as protecting his longevity.
5) he's 28-29 not old at all.
6)Contract has 3 years to run, your making up strong rumours i think. I study and read everything watch everything i can and never heard a rumour suggesting an early return to Melbourne. Also freinds with Travis Varcoe so i think youve pulled that out the air to strengthen your argument.

As i said before and will continue to say, you are basing your opinions none of which are factual just hypothetical.
Im sure you stated in other threads you wouldnt take Cox this year to old wont average the same yet you have him. Im confident you'll have Gaj before rnd 1 also. :)

Pokerface

Even if the contract rumours were true, which they are not, how did Gaz do again in his last year at Geelong during the contract rumours?

Getting old?? What is he 29-30?? Same age as Swan

I remember reading that he "may" want to return to Geelong at the end of his contract. Can't recall the sourse or if it was just a journalist searching for a story. This will have no impact on his game this year.

Yeh saw an interview on the beach where he said he wouldnt rule it out but he'll be 32 at the end of his contract so they may not be a spot for him he said.
