Jamie Elliott - break out year maybe?

+10

Royals too good

Unfortunately the youth of the Islanders was not enough to match it with the much improved royals. Captain Rocky and breakout year gun, Ben Howlett fell back to earth and couldn't get us over the line.

On a positive note, Tom Bugg was very impressive this weekend and showed us all that he will be a star. It seems our fitness has become an issue as Hampton and Elliot started well and faded in the 2nd half. Matty Leuenberger backed up his ton last week with 93 and showing no signs of injury.

I think the standout performer of the week was Rhys Stanley with 114.

Coach Jayman not happy

This week was an absolute shocker for Pacific resulting in us being eliminated from the World Idol, losing to the Brewers and scoring lower than NDT + Beijing :o

We had no one score over 100, not going to win many games when that happens! The Islanders will go through vigorous training this week to try and get the fight back that we showed against Tokyo.

Congrats to Jason Tutt for making his WXV debut this weekend - he certainly was not our worst performer

The only sort of positive note from this week was Sam Gibson scoring 99. We have been looking for him all year to help out the likes of Rocky and Benny in the midfield and this round he finally arrived and was our highest scoring player.

Islanders in desperate times

Going into the round 5 clash with Wellington, coaches Jayman and tbag were very confident we could get the win, when Taylor Walker went down for the Warriors we thought we had it in the bag. Not to be, Pacific only had 2 players crack the ton and received some very low scores. Vice-captain Ben Howlett was the most disappointing of all scoring 50 points below his average. Captain Rocky and gun ruck, Matthew Leuenberger did their best to make a late charge but it was not enough. Credit to Tim Mohr down back who was the only shining light, scoring 88.

There will be some serious soul-searching done on the way to Crooke Park as we take on Dublin in a must-win game.

Destroyed by Dublin

Sorry about the lateness.

Round 6: Dublin Destroyers (21.17.143) defeated Pacific Islanders (15.8.98)

You cant expect to win when none of your players crack 100. 7 goal loss was about right and all credit to Dublin, they played very well. Kind of embarrassing for the players when the coach expects you to finish outside the bottom 4 then you can't even put up a competitive performance and let teams that will finish outside the eight run all over you...

Shining light? Tim Mohr... Just missed out on the ton and put in 100% - it was not his fault we lost. The stars needed to stand up.

Stay tuned for round 7 write-up :)

Rockliff extraordinary in fighting loss

Buenos Aires Armadillos (24.18.162) defeated Pacific Islanders (17.17.119)

Coach Jayman is pleased with the effort his boys put in on the week and the score of 119 could have won some games, but unfortunately we had to play the Armadillos who were obviously too strong.

Despite beating them in the pre-season, Pacific could not get it done in the round 7 clash with Buenos Aires. This was not due to Tom Rockliff not trying... He was exceptional pumping out 153! This gave us a slight sniff but couldn't close it out.

David Ellard suffered a hamstring injury and was forced to be subbed out of the game this really hurts as we felt he could elevate himself to a premium midfielder this year and really lift Pacifc.

Draw does not get any easier with Mexico City Suns at BSP Stadium this week. Can the Islanders do it? With Rocky playing, anything is possible >:D

Jaybag reunited

Media Guru Mr X. Islanders suffered a loss after suspending lunatic Coach Tbag for three weeks. Tbag went mental after drinking to much in the Islanders bar! He left the bar after destroying it and then went to town on the club locker rooms! It is said he urinated in the fish tank, sadly the fish didn't make it.

Co-Coach tbag last month left the bar in chaos

Tbag was suspended from the club for three matches, he spent the time getting hammered and giving motivational speaches to under privileged kids in Poland.

Tbag has since returned to work with the rest of the staff but has been ordered to undergo AA meatings!

This tbag fella seems a bit rowdy, what kind of culture is brewing at Pacific?  :o ???

So our boy Tommy Mitchell is the only player on record to have at least 15 disposals, 5 tackles and a goal in each of his first 5 games.

Let that sink in ;)

Titch Handed the Reigns

In sensational news, Tom Rockliff will not lead out the Islanders as captain this weekend. Instead Coaches JayBag have given young Tom Mitchell a go. Was a close call between he and Matty Berger but the 20 year old is set for a big game and will flourish with his new found role.

Rocky has been suffering a form lapse for a while now and relieving him of the captaincy role could be just what he needs to get his form back on track!

Welcome to Maximus

Earlier this week, we received an application form Maximus to become an assistant. We were really pleased with his thoughts and are excited to have him on board. Will be good to have someone to sort out the heated arguments between Jaybag :P

Stay tuned for the Contintental Cup!
