Ok, you might be worried about the dreaded vest or JS maybe rookie getting rested after a few games.

What you might need is the ultimate wing man strategy?

You asked what is the ultimate wing man strategy? You say to yourself isn't that something you see on Hamish and Andy. Well yes you do, but it can be applied to dream team too and this how:

You got rookie A (O.Wines) who plays for Port Power and you have rookie B (K.Mitchell) who also plays for Port Power. Now say if week 4 comes along and Wines is rested or rubbed out in steps the ultimate wing man Mitchell to fill the void and prosper from Wines absentees.

Here I have Devised a list of some ultimate wing man combos you could potentially start with:

Wines, Mitchell
Toumpas, Viney
O'meara, Lonergan
Daw, Currie

Feel free to add more to the list.

I've already got the Daw/Currie & O'Meara/Lonergan combos, reckon you're right there, especially with the two ruckman 8)

are you suggesting trade combos or substitute (bench cover) combos?

Grundy/Witts.
Toumpas/Viney/Jones (3 way)
Hvarat/Macrae

Interesting idea that I think is more suited to Supercoach as DT now has two trades per week.

Another interesting idea, but the reason we want these rookies is as cash cows. If your example came true, you would have 2 rookies that by round 8 would have gained very little in value. So much better spending your money on two rookies that you expect (hope?) will prosper for many weeks.

True but think some of these combo's could both play
Wines, Mitchell
Toumpas, Viney
O'meara, Lonergan

Could see these 3 combo's playing together most weeks

I have the Toumpas/Jones/viney combo.
