DEF: Maybe a bit too strong. Goddard, Grimes and Gibbs are superb picks but I would only look at one of Broughts or Shaw. Look at Pittard, Stevenson, Colq and maybe Prudden.

RUCKS: Very solid. Cannot see anything wrong with them.

MID: Ablett is a lock. As is Pendles at his price. Have you considered Murphy? Very underpriced and a 110+ midfielder. I would consider downgrading Cotchin to him. Redden is also a good pick. Maybe look at Embley instead of Miles to free up some more cash, because you will need it for that fwd line. Moloney and the rest of your rookies are fine.

FWD: Ok. There are very few good fwd rookies this year. Key forward rookies generally score very poorly because they just don't find enough of the ball. Zorko is a fine pick and Wright is ok. But we really need to strengthen this line up. Is there a reason Nic Nat is on your bench? Are you are waiting for him to come back from injury? If so, he will come back slightly underdone and maybe cop a vest or two in his first two games. This could mean a nice price drop and you can pick him up then. We have 2 trades per week this year... If you don't use them you lose them. So saving trades isn't an issue. But lets say he is ready for round 1 and start him on the field. Your fwd line looks like... Zorko, Naitanui, Wright, Patton, Mayes, Daniher, (Macaffer, Menzel) . Like I said, happy with Zorko, Wright and even NicNat if he is fit ready for round 1, but we need to boost the rest. If you did the changes above, i figure you have about 250k to play around with. Maybe look at...

Broughts/Shaw ---> Pittard/Stevenson/Colq/Prudden
Miles ----> Embley
Mayes ---> Rockliff
Menzel ---> Lee, Kerridge, Growden
Patton ---> Byrnes
and if NicNat isn't ready round 1
