Found this an interesting read this morning. Demons to ask the AFL if they can play Hogan this season...

Chances are that the response will just be a flat out no but if Hogan was available this season it would be damn handy.

With a lack of forward rookies available he'd be locked in my team if he was allowed to play, that's for sure.

as much as we all want it to happen no chance.

its a shame as with clark injured, he would easily be the best forward rookie around. locked into my 2014 team, just hope they keep him cheap like omeara.

Mr.Craig

I'm sure the AFL will say no and from a fantasy perspective I'd rather see him start Round 1, 2014 and play a bunch of games in a row than have a couple here and there during 2013 that would make it difficult to justifying picking him and also put a premium on him for the following year.

Ricochet

Would be amazing if they could, but very unlikely.

Given the state of Melbourne's team if he did get clearance to play I think he'd get more than a handful of games - I'd suggest he'd play most of the season or get at least as many games as Daniher.

Mr.Craig

Keep in mind we are talking about a kid who isn't even 17 and a half yet. As the article stated they were planning to use him in the same way as Viney last season with limited games in the VFL and a customised training schedule. If he was given clearance they wouldn't just throw that strategy in the bin, he would be heavily managed to protect their asset.

well if they let Hogan play they cant say no to Martin either so don't think it will happen

and if they got a serious injury media would have a field day

Not to mention Crouch and O'meara (and their respective coaches/clubs) would be like wtf AFL.

The_Captain

NO way would the Afl let this happen... Not in the slightest chance.
