I've currently got grimes in my team and might be looking to replace him with broughton to free up some money. How much do you reckon both of these players will average this year? Is Broughton going to dissapoint like last year?

Ricochet

Broughts 88-90
Grimes 96+

Unless you can use the cash to significantly improve your team, I'd keep Grimes

Jukes

Grimes by like ten points aha. Broughton won't even come anywhere near him.

Broughts: 85-89
Grimes: 94-97

Nails

Grimes every day of the week.

GM

Grimes more reliable if injury free.

Holz

one of the rules i stick by.

choose the player who will score well but has a risk of injury over the player who will play but the risk is their scoring.

betch ya

Yeah grimes over broughton any day

Grimes with more mid time will be good, close to or top 6 defender. Broughton is like a box of chocolates we dont know what we are going to get. The full matches will show alot more of his role but right now Grimes by a long way.

Nails

Grimes is closer to top 3 imo Grazz

Look at that average after he went full time mid job...

104.5 over his last 8 games *drool*

Could be on the money Nails, he should be in the Top 6, where im not sure just yet. Theres a couple who could push up into the Top 6 in 2013. To me the top 6 will come from Goddard Gibbs Grimes Stanley Waters Heppell Scotland Hanley Duffield Hartlett Birchall etc in no particular order and possibly one or two i havent named with a few tweeks to where a couple will spend more time in 2013 its to hard for me at the minute to say who will finish where, to many up in the airs, Duffield without brought's could have a big year.

Depends how you use the left over cash mate. I don't rate Grimes as highly as everyone else and I actually don't see him improving too much. I see Broughts hitting 90 and I reckon he'll only be about 5 points away from Grimes.

Could you give us a combo to see how the left over cash is used? would be more helpful. :)

Nails

Look how he finished the season Adam

He doesn't need to improve, he already is a star :o

Grimes right now and by a clear margin, but if Broughton as he can do comes out and rips it up in the next couple of nab cup games your poll results would probably STILL favour Grimes but maybe not by so much.

I think Grimes may be better over his career, but right now I think Broughton is "capable" of being the better player.

That said as tempted as I was picking Broughton playing off half back for GCS, I have not seen enough to get excited at all yet.

And I think I will play it safe and avoid him this season, but I won't start Grimes either as I think he is not top 4 DEF yet...
