I think he makes their 22. Is fighting for a spot with... Dare I say it..... Richard Tambling in my side. A couple if full length NAB game should give us a better idea of what the magpies are planning on doing with him.

I'm looking at him too but the thing I'm worried about is that even if he is named in the Pies round 1 team, there's no guarantee that he will remain there.

I'm more inclined to select a D5 player that is more expensive but guarenteed a spot every week such as Yarran or Atley.

yeah also thinking the same thing. slim pickings for cheap backs IMO.

Currently in my side as D4 just because I didnt want to field 3 rookies in defense. Definately a watch and see but if he performs well in the nab then get him, under 300k and could probably average about 80.

Yeah Russell is nearly defintley in the Pies best 22. I think a change of clubs will be great for Russell and he's pretty cheap, so I've got my eye on him

Richard Tambling won't play very many games at all if any. Can't see him doing well if he gets in anyway.

Maybe, maybe not! Did average 89 in 2009 playing in a very average side. looks like Sando is going to give Tambling a real crack this year. It's a bit to early to tell on either at the moment though. A couple of full length NAB games will give a better indication though.

If he's playing a mop up and distribute role then he's well worth it.  Seemed that way nab 1  and hope it continues
