DT-SC

Am i crazy for considering him as a cheap F5 instead of Byrnes, Knights and co.
He would probably have the best JS as well...
at only 180k, he really impressed on the weekend, I seriously think he could go 70+ and be a good cash cow with solid JS..
now can someone talk me out of it?  :P

He will be looking good in NAB games. But when it comes to the home and away season I think he may struggle receiving the best/2nd best defender. One would go to Cameron one would go to Patton.

kilbluff1985

Considering him for SC but not DT

SydneyRox

The other issue being that both Cartlon and the Swans midfields were really short of the best players. GWS got way more supply into the fwd line than they will be allowed in the regular season.

Not a crazy idea, but give it another NAB game or two.

Windigo

A young key fwd makes me weary. But he oozes talent & potential.

I'd still go for other fwd players TBH.  :-\

Toga

Don't think you're the only one DT-SC - there's some good discussion about him here.

Football Factory

Not for me.. a young KPP playing for GWS .. if he was 108k then i would but he isnt

Hagebear

Possibly but very unlikely. Like SydneyRox said will have to see how he goes in a couple if full length games against better opposition.

? he scored 34 in 1/3 of a game against an AA key defender in ted richards...

Still dont think you can read too much into it.... Teddy and all the swans are a few weeks behind GWS in terms of prep since they started the PS a month later.
It was disappointing, but the amount of fumbles and miss kicks from the more experienced players, that went along with the 'kick in hopes' from some of the younger guys was high. This will get weeded out over the next two weeks.
Nothing against Teddy or Reg, but the only defender who really looked that switched on was Johnson.

I posted this on Patton's bigpond article:

b) I would probably rather say that the Giants' midfield has potential rather than talent. Fact is that they scored the least points in the league, with 1270. The next lowest was GCS with 1509. That says that either GWS forwards aren't marking well enough, or that the delivery into the midfield is poor. I'm thinking mostly the latter here. Ballmagnet Toby Greene's disposal efficiency was 65% with 4.3 clangers per game. It would be optimistic to think that the Giants' mids will improve that much.

Adamant

He would be an absolute lock for me if he was under 120k, but not at 183k...

I'm watching carefully. For all those guys getting excited about byrnes, varcoe, knights, then you got to put this guy in the mix with em, except he comes at a cheaper price.

Not ruling him out.

Not really owen, as Windy said oozes talent but is a KKP, and the others are more likely to get to more contests, and can have runs through the midfield. just different types of players. But i do agree, he's probably the most talented. just plays a much tougher position

One of Patton or Cameron will win the coleman medal this year
