that's right Zip - extremely average seasons averaging exactly the same as Cotchin did in his 3rd season...

just making the point - what comes next in the 4th ? my bet 90 +

tbagrocks

Thanks Zip ;D  Making the point why a Victorian club takes the victorian player first when it doesn't matter ;D

Point is both for whatever reason had average seasons, I expect big improvement from both players, Melbourne to release Jack to his ball finding best, GWS to have Skully as the major playor in a developing midfield, but Greene, Ward, Palmer, Treloar and the likes to free up Skully to be the Ablett (as if ::)) for WS

he might be a bit behind his development with injury

meow meow

Just because they were early picks does not mean they are sure to be guns.

Trengove was the best player in the draft

Melbourne took Skully because they had Trengove locked at 2, because Tom was the Victorian he went first

We all knew Jack was better, dirty vicks >:(

Trengove the best player in that draft? HAHAHAHA stfu with your SA bullshower Tbag.

The best player in that draft is from WA and he was crushed that he had to go to Freo since he was a diehard Eagle fan. Wasn't even a first round pick. #20 - Nathan Fyfe.
Dustin Martin is better than Trengove. Cunnington is better and more chance of a breakout. Mitch Duncan, Christensen, Gunston and Lewis Jetta are all pretty handy too. Jetta was older than the other guys so that explains why he brokeout earlier. Menzel might have been the pick of the bunch.

Is it a coincidence or luck that Menzel, Christensen and Duncan look like guns already? It might have something to do with better coaches and players around them. That's why Trengove will NOT have a major breakout in 2013

tbagrocks

Simply wrong person cat, Trengove was the right No one, what the frog are you on about :o silly kitty ::)

meow meow

So you're saying Trengove is better than Fyfe?

Why was Trengove the right number 1? Because he is south australian? what other reasons or is that the only thing that matters?

tbagrocks

Stop it and hold the breaks, we are talking about when the draft was on

Right at that point for juniors Jack Trengove was the best footballer around

You can't four years later  because of progress someone is better, bulldust man!

Victoria cheated us again out of a No 1, t[who is better now from that draft is irrelivant ::)

meow meow

Draft positions when considering players for a 4th year breakout is what is irrelevant so who cares what number Trengove was? Why even mention it? You're the one who brought it up.

tbagrocks

Of course I brought it up, anytime victoria does something bias I will challenge it

I brought it up because of the Skully love silly kitty ;)

I don't care if you are still underestamating Jack Trengove ;)

auscoyote

Haha love the arguement, ( sorry, difference of opinions)
How is this about lower? ???
Lets just say melbourne tanked, cheated all of the afl clubs and their fans. They are such a rabble, the afl feel sorry for them and let them off the hook. Its all flowerin bullshower that no afl fan is happy with and Vlad should be sacked. >:(

As for Lower, i have him and Moloney in my side and one will make way for best rookie and Stevie come rnd 3.

Fyfe way better than scully and trengrove even back 4 years ago. Melbourne just cant draft for shower, except hogan god damn it!
Would like to compare fyfe's first 3 years against the guns. Lock him in for the Brownlow ;)

tbagrocks

Lower has to be considered but because of a mid only he will need to be upgraded

Fyfe is a superstar, put on muscle so the sholders are less of a risk

Fyfe will be hugely fantasy relevant but won't beat Dangerfield to the medal

Scully and Trengove are huge chances of breakouts but I will say because of pressure and ust that, next year is the year to be on them

auscoyote

Yeah would eventually upgrade either lower or moloney, and just use them as a stepping stone.
With all the trades this year it is going to turn DT into more of a money ball than ever ???

Yeah Danger a good chance for the medal too. (also got money on him) You would think that both have a great chance of it during their careers. Still betting Fyfe gets there first though haha, the ump's love him ;)

meow meow

Back on topic, I would say Lower is in the best 22, but he's every chance to be the sub or miss out completely.

B: Wood, Roughy, Morris
HB: Lower, Talia, Markovic
C: Griffen, Boyd, Cooney
HF: Higgins, Jones, Murphy
F: Dahlhaus, Williams, Giansiracusa
R: Minson, Wallis, Liberatore
I: Cross, Picken, Clay, Dickson

E: Campbell, Addison, Johannisen

Any one of Grant, Goodes, Cordy, Austin, Howard, Stevens could easily come into the 22 so competition for spots is fierce. Then add Hrovat, Stringer, Macrae and Hunter to the mix and I don't think that you can be confident that Lower and Clay will play 22 games.

Cross, Picken, Higgins and Murphy can all play half back so removing Lower would be very easy to do.

Johannisen, Goodes, Macrae or Howard could come in and play the rebounding defender role. Maybe Markovic misses out. Talia runs a 14.something beep test and has bulked up so he has the fitness and size to get first crack at CHB so he isn't going anywhere. He's an Under 18 All Australian full back and the only man who beat Patton every time he played on him. Will be like his brother and be very good, very quickly. Sorry, getting sidetracked.

Addison is a favourite of the coach and played most games last year.

Lower SHOULD be in but he has a bit of competition.

Colliwobblers

its relevant to Lower if there is others you should consider ahead of him :)

But think Meow sums it up best. Kid will be a star but as I said in my first "on topic" post - i think it is a year early to get on him?

auscoyote

Thanks meow, great insight. I hadn't looked at the doggie's list in depth yet.
Definately way more competition for spots than i thought. Surely they must squeeze goodes in there too somehow unless he is just going to be used as depth cover for an LTI and not upgrade him yet. (waste).

Lower better than stevens, still dont know why freo let him go. but yeah a lot of good kids who deserve a run.
As long as lower plays at least the first two rounds its all good for my DT :)
