Rookies are mostly random to this point and will be changed after NAB.

i only have 13 players from that list, so thats the most unique team i have seen.

forwards are way too weak in my opinion. not goddard and gibbs is a big mistake in my opinion. Your not going to like it but i would suggest Mclean down to embers and than Newman and Golby to Goddard and Gibbs.

than upgrade one of thsoe forward rookie to varcoe or byrnes, shoudl make the side abit more solid.

i think your reasoning on the mid priced defenders is sound over premium defenders. but not over premium defenders who will play in the midfield.

Staker is injured

Johnson is out round 1 and has an aweful tough draw early

the mids are great but Carlton also has an aweful tough draw early and gibbs may effect mcleans scoring in a permanent mid role?

Redden is a massive risk with Moloney there he would want to seriously lift his work rate to get those tackles he has gotten in the past that are a large part of his premium scoring moloney will be first to the opposition player a lot i fear.

the first 5 mids are super, everyone loves to hate stanton but man can he score when he scores.

roughead also for ruck #1 ?

this is simply not your 2013 DT team, but it makes an interesting read for it's uniqueness. won't see another like it i think.

I expect this sort of team from Zip :) not a bad team i don't mean that, a UNIQUE team is what i mean.

Yeah the forward line ruins this team. Stevie J, Rioli, and Staker all need replacing. Plus why save $40k on Roughead when you can have Cox instead?

Because 2013 Roughead > Cox.

As I said most of the rooks (Staker included) are random for now. And Johnson etc. will be swapped out eventually.

if you are serious about this team,I would give serious consideration to cutting redden or mclean, with one of them down to a rook, you can tweak a lot of other players which you will HAVE TO DO, especially the rooks, a lot of them will cost you a little more for the right ones. you will need to find the money somewhere.

with 2 trades per week these sorts of team could be the winning teams. and i rate the deep midfield it will give you an early advantage, but not if you lose TOO MANY points on the other lines at the same time.

Might downgrade Boyd and upgrade somewhere else

Boyd > Embers

Embers would be alright as M7. Would like at least another midpricer in backs or fwds tbh.

Not downgrading McLean, especially now, everyone will be on the McLean bandwagon after NAB.

it might work, toby greene was significantly better than mclean in both games - just saying, not sure who is getting on mcleans bandwagon but i'll wave you off at the platform :)

That said....

Your midfield is 9/10 very very strong forround 1.

Your FWD line is 8.5/10 given the strength of your midfield it is surprising how strong your fwd line is.

Your DEF line is 4/10 but apart from a very few premium defenders average what 85? so why spend the money there? makes sense not to.

Your RUCK is fine not many will start him but Roughead is a premium and everyone has to have burger if fit round 1.

you've said your rooks aren't set thats ok, i wouldnt have embley, if you can't afford ball or moloney maybe make him a rook? and spend the spare $ on fixing the other rooks to ensure you have all the best rooks.

if some of those mid pricers fail you will need the cash so your rooks HAVE TO be the best available cash cows.

I don't mind it - I wouldn't do it, but it really is pretty good and clever. GOOD LUCK. :)
