Thought I would start a thread where we can discuss Lions Games and Players in the NAB Cup.
Versus Hawthorne
Karnezis seemed to be all over the ground - kicking let him down at times. Could be worth watching in future games
Moloney showed enough to show that he will benefit the Lions at clearances
Zorko, Green and Banfield played well as small forawrds.
Rich and Rockliff were outstanding in the second half.
Martin looked good at Centre Half Forward as well.
Golby showed no ill effects from his foot injury.

Redden was terrible did Moloney and Rocky in the mids affect his scoring?
Or was he just off tonight?

BB67th

Hmmm I hope Zorko is used more out on a wing than a small forward, really need him to fire this year. Rich looks like a possible SC smokey.

Didn't lay a tackle, clearly just having a jog on the park?

He actually did lay a  tackle one only lol but they didn`t count it don`t know why.

Verses Gold Coast

Golby star of the second game and strengthened his selection for Round 1
Cornelius stood up in this game with good marks
Stefan Martin depending on next 3 games has virtually sealed the CHF role alongside Brownie.
Moloney and Rockliff continue to work well together with Moloney kicking a super goal.
Bewick was consistent in both games
Mereet and Polkinghorne both had strong games in defence.

Disappointments were Docherty ( Elliot Yeo was head and shoulders over him tonight) Reddan was also disappointing and whether the Moloney Rockliff combo is effecting him do not know.

Brisbane selectors will have an interesting time over the next month in picking Round 1 Team with a virtual fully fit squad to pick from.

Sam Mayes? dnp? small kid but sooooooooooooooooo talented, Karnizes to play on a wing?

This leaves either Lisle or Cornelious to grab a forward spot?

Golby, dare we say it :-[ ? Considering?

they must of missed them. he layed a few big ones

Why didn't Harwood play in either match when he was named in the squad on Thursday?

Benus

Moloney looked like a Rolls Royce in game 1 and Golby was brilliant.
Zork is pure class and looks to be continuing on from where he left off last season, but SC-wise he is a bit pricey :S don't think I'm keen.
Yeo also looked classy - agree with you ringo re yeo v docherty tonight but not sure how much we can read into NAB 1 at this stage. Did docherty even play?? Lol... I know he was in the squad but I actually can't even remember seeing him, though I didn't pay that much attention to the second game.
Cornelius took some good grabs, think Martin did just enough given the conditions and what he's got to offer as FWD/RUCK to justify being selected by Vossy in rnd 1, though that's still a while off.

Think Browny said mayes pulled up a bit sore so they rested him. I also remember him cautiously saying something like "this kid is a real star of the future." Big wraps from the big man

The way Browny was talking about paparone he could be the real surprise packet to grab a spot as a key forward

But yeah tonight I'm mainly sad that pearce hanley was rested. Legend

Lions defence was hardly tested. should see Docherty more over the next few weeks

Ringo

Regarding Docherty played in both games but maybe do not read a lot into it.

Adcock and Hanley are to some back in and Adcock is usually the general organiser of defence.  As has been said defence not really tested so make judgement after next 3 NAB Games.

BB67th

An impressive two wins there for the Lions while still having 4-5 best 22 players out. Looking forward to a strong season this year.

Windigo

Redden got 10 touches in the 2nd game?  ??? In these short games I look at the amount of possessions over their score.
