So, the Melbourne Cup is tomorrow, who do we like?

any of the big underdogs in the Melbourne Cup a chance to place?

i mean like Sea Moon, Unchain My Heart, Mr O'ceirin
Don't think so.

Out of those three, Unchain My Heart is probably the best chance but even then I wouldn't give it much of a chance.

Tbags Tips :)

1st. SIGNOFF, Superstar local, British bred, bottom weight! Worlds best Jockey!

2nd. ADMIRE RATKI

3rd. PROTIONIST

4th. LUCIA VALENTINA

Best Roughy: Who Shot the Barman

Good horse, problem is this is no ordinary race, can place but probably cant win. Sneak the place bet though sure! Should run a big race and be somewhere near third Id imagine

T Dog

Mutual Regard I reckon  , another 6 chances,  but may go with a raider  :)

I know a Admire Rakti and Protectionist, but not a Admire Ratki and Protionist.  :P

BratPack

#81
As per usual on Melbourne Cup Eve it's time for my uneducated thoughts

BratPack's One Line Melbourne Cup Form Guide

1. Admire Rakti: Deserved Favorite. Will be in the finish. Weight and its last run at 3200 do give me pause though

2. Cavalryman: 9 times out of 10 beware when Godolphin isn't talking. Ran the race in 2012 and looks better than that now. Still can't see a 9yo winning though.

3. Fawkner: Ran an eyecatching race last and looked to be screaming for more distance at the Cox. Loves the track too. Big chance

4. Red Cadeaux: You know it will run top half and it did beat Admire Rakti home in its last run at 3200. But again I can't see a 9yo winning.

5. Protectionist Very lightly raced but has won at 3000 on a slow and was looking for more in the Herbert Power. I rate it highly.

6. Sea Moon Scratched for being a Nathan Lyon impersonator

7. Seismos Hard to see how you can go from such a poor showing in the Caulfield Cup to winning the Melbourne Cup. Distance is probably beyond it too. Nope

8. Junoob: It wasn't the worst in the Caulfield and won the Metro. I query the 3200 though. Not here

9. Royal Diamond: See Cavalryman and Red Cadeaux. Struggles at the top class too. Pass

10. Gatewood Never raced past 2500, needs the give in the ground. Too many red lights, not enough green.

11. Mutual Regard: 2 wins and 2 seconds over the distance, has Ollie on board and is racing a really light weight for it. Rating Highly

12. Who Shot Thebarman Forget it ever went 'round at Caulfield. Has been utterly crunched since Saturday and loves the track. Should be there at the end.

13. Willing Foe: Again beware when Godolphin isn't talking. Also general rule take the lesser known of their runners. That said I'd prefer it wet for it.

14. My Ambivalent 50-1 and probably should be 3 times that. Only raced once past 2400 and never came close. Nope

15. Precedence It's a Bart horse so you can never totally count it out but never finished better than 8th in the Cup and has been in better form than this. Place Only.

16. Brambles I don't see how you go from that run in the McKinnon to winning this. Pass

17. Mr O'Ceirin: 200-1 and should be 5 times that. Plus it's a mudlark. No

18. Au Revoir: I don't think it's the worst. He has shown it can get 3000. I just question the class. Value pick for Trifectas though

19. Lidari: He wasn't disgraced at Caulfield. I'd like the give in the ground though. Can't take

20. Opinion Probably should've won the Metro. Will get the distance too. I just don't think it can win unless it's wet.

21. Araldo Overraced at Caulfield. Will probably get the distance too. Not from 24 (Now 23) though.

22. Lucia Valentina: Ran a faster last 200 than Admire Rakti at Caulfield. Seems poised and has a light weight. Big Chance

23. Unchain My Heart It will get 3200. Loves the track too. But has Dean Yendall on board. Yendall of course being aboriginal for "Bush Jockey for life". Pass

24. Signoff Will probably be in the finish. But I never trust the Lexus. I won't be on

So my tips then in no order

5. Protectionist
11. Mutual Regard
12. Who Shot Thebarman
