Pre Nab Cup Team:

Thoughts? Yeah light on in defence but not overly worried about that, got to start rooks somewhere best in defence methinks

Hey Colli! Good to see you here again and sorry about the mix up :P

Nice looking team so far

Backs: Might be a bit thin. Maybe look at Broughton to D4 and an extra "prem" (i use that term lightly) - 1/2
Mids: Gone STRONG here. Also does having more than 3 prems with the round 13 bye worry you? If so have you though of bringing in like a Shuey, Fyfe, Mundy or even Moloney (who looks great)? Food for thought - 4/4 here as is...super strong
Rucks: Solid. Havent seen many teams with The Mullet in at R1. I like it. - 2/2
Fwds: Cox and Rocky are basically locks. I like seeing Wright there. Cloke still not sold on, but if he fires watch out! And we have the same F5, 6 and rooks :) - 1.5/2

Overall 8.5/10...very good start Colli. Never lets us down :)

Feel free to rate mine

Colliwobblers

have been to your thread and rated your version what was it 495.5 ? :) good team coming along very nicely.

The 3 round 3 bye premiums don't bother me they combined will outscore the alternative choice by enough to justify benching them in round 13, the lost points between them on the bench and who i have to play less the "extra" points htye will have scored over not only the first 12 rounds but then the rounds after the bye more than offsets the disadvantage for just round 13.

Ball will be gone before round 13.

Broughton is already gone but i think on price i am stuck with cloke, or i bring in varcoe and bank the cash.

thanks for the feedback.

Well thought out Colli.
1794.65 now haha

Who's come in for Broughton? and are you happy going in a bit thin in the backs for a super strong midfield?

hanley if not Stanley :) hanley most likely.

Got to play premiums somewhere and rooks somewher, so better to play the premiums where they score MUCH better than the rooks.

it's a balancing act, but i feel the defensive rooks are solid enough to be able to start 3 reliable full game rooks for each game for the first few rounds. If they get 60+ I'll sit on them and upgrade mids first still.

BY A LONG WAY ARE MOST POINTS SCORED IN THE MIDS. The sooner you have 8 Elite Mids the better.

The balance is not scoring TOO MANY less points than everyone else in DEF and FWD, but given the average premium defender averages 85 and the average elite mid averages 115 its mathematically pretty simple.

my extra def rooks only need to score better than 30 points less than other teams extra mid rooks and i am in front.

Yeh Hanley will step up again this season.

Very well thought out Colli :)

Updated with Broughton our for Hanley in - some forced rookie changes.

Still a work in progress...

Ringo

Thank You for putting latest team here after the trolling of your thread.

Rookies will continue to be a work in process so no real comments on them as they will start to evolve in the next 3 rounds when teams play full games,  eg and this one is for you Suspect Brisbane will field close to the first round team for the 3rd Round clash with Pies,  So we will get an idea of where Docherty, Paporone Mayes etc sit. (Black and Polec the only players who may not be available.  Berger was hoping for 3rd Round as well)

Def: Looks solid now with 3 prems and 3 rookies
Mids: 5 strong prems plus Ball - No issues here -
Rucks: Solid
Fwds: Cloke at F4 - may be sound for you as well.

Just continue watching rookies over the next 3 weeks for finalisation.

Well thought out structure and reasonably bye friendly as well.

Rate 9.2/10

Haha sorry Colli, was just using it to prove the point - I'll go and delete it now. Wasn't trying to hijack, sorry pal! :D

Strong through the mids hey Capital Cw?

Nice and Hanley, as Ringo will tell you, is worth the risk this year.

All good but I would watch your rookies - you may find you have to spend more to get a full playing set.

Could always downgrade Ball I guess for cash.

yep your right on the money as usual Doc, i need to cut cloke or ball to fix those rooks, could turn Selwood into Fyfe but I want 5 I can set and forget from day 1.

Well said indeed. Especially considering this year with the bye rounds where best 18 afield takes the bikkies, the mid premos are the first port of call... get them ASAP. Will make a HUGE difference to ya overall.

cuz_crew

just because you get negative feed back does not make me a troll.... grow up.

cloke, byrnes, wright are not good choices.

you have overloaded in your midfield.

you only have 2 prem backs and one unproven expensive choice in harnley

this is rate my supercoach.

i am rating it 6.5 out of 10 lots of room for improvement.

tor01doc

Hey cuz,

This is a list of comments this team has recieived

great team - 9/10
love it
great
love the team
great team
9.2/10
nice team
looks good
great work
solid 8.75/10
looks great
nice 8.5
very good
well thought out

and a lot of those comments elaborated upon why - seems all good.

Then along you come with - 'pretty average, silly and poor' and rate it 5/10. You say Fyfe won't average over 100 and don't give any productive comments. I agree you have rated it but not in a constructive way.

Maybe that's why some are annoyed.

I love the banter but I would love to hear what comments you might have that could help poor old Colliwobblers improve his team.

Waiting... ;)

thats better, and almost constructive now you have rated the correct team.

I am not annoyed at your rating my "actual" team poorly, I am annoyed at your feedback on a lot of other teams however, it is your arrogance and lack of constructive advice that makes your posts and comments annoying.

I would say premium mids score as much as 30 points in general higher average than defenders so why have more defenders and less mids, you could answer this and maybe your reasoning will change my mind.

I think cloke while having a shocking season in 2012 led the comp in contested marks, his partner in the fwd line was a spud, lynch is there now and will be of far more use to him, contract nonsense out of the way and very cheap, why is he such a bad choice?

byrnes or varcoe i am not set on either yet but both should make as much money as a rook in a shorter period of time scoring better along the way? no?

Hanley , Stanley, not sure who gets that 3rd DEF spot yet but Hanley will play wing and a bt of mid this season if you believe the reports and should improve further? no? elaborate? if not him who?

Wright played in the middle a lot last season and is set to even more this season, he is improving also, or isn't he? who else, martin, robbo ? i wouldn't back eitehr to improve more than wright but you may be wiser and can share your wisdom on this selection also.

As for the mids - I would love for anyone to explain to me how if i can field solid rooks on my def and fwd lines why i would want to have more elite fwds or defs over elite mids given the elite mids MASSIVELY outscore the fwds and especially the defenders.

But thanks for your comments as I said much better than what i have seen from some of your rates....  you can be as harsh as you like people will appreciate it and even respect you for your honesty, but ESPECIALLY to the newer members you can be nice and SHOULD be constructive.
