Mid Nab Cup Team: UPDATED

Out: Broughton & some rooks

In: Hanley & some rooks

Thoughts?

LF

Colli I don't think you have enough pies players lol

Backs nothing wrong with playing 3 rookies seems to be the best way to go imo and you have the best 2 backs Broughton still worries me could be good depending on his role
Mids are great Jelwood seems to be a unique this year
Rucks are great
Forward line is good Wright could possibly go big this year only Cloke has a big question mark for me but I guess because he burnt me last season I'm a bit bias
Overall it's a great team  9/10

Colliwobblers

thanks LF - stoked to get that 9 from you :) it must be ok :)

cloke is a big risk and could turn into another of those mid priced fwds we all love this season and broughton could gain the money to turn him into someone safer.

just think the SUNS have to win games this season, broughton surely can't be there to tag and let loose in the Suns back half could be explosive fantasy wise. ( probably more for DT than SC which worries me)

Think Bock in the Suns backline in 2011 and he was probably more accountable than broughton will be. not sure on him for SC tho?

LF

Stanely is a suns player who could go big this year averaged well last year I actually have him in my team over Broughton,Heppell and atm Goddard who I'll upgrade to later as I reckon he will drop in price.

nick wilkesmann

Love Selwood & JPK- Surely can only increase.
Maric great choice
4 PTA Rookies? (realise they'll be reassessed)
From what I've read seems Currie is in front of Daw at NM
Cloke seems to be common to the team of every pie fan... but no-one else

All the best!

AndreDrummond

Love the team mate, the only thing slightly concerning is the fact you are starting three rookie backman
I would try to downgrade ball and get Yarran into your back line. It will look a lot stronger and I believe Mick will do wonders for Yarran, ala Leon Davis 2010!
The strength of your Mids will surely make up for starting a rookie in place of Luke Ball, 9/10 great team.

Colliwobblers

@ Nick

Thanks Mate, cloke is a risk but in a bad season in 2012 he led the league in contested marks.

The port rooks are gold :) kane mitchell the most likely to go, the otehrs should stay if names round 1.

Currie for mine is the same as goldy a tap ruckman and not really an option fwd, i would think daw would make a better pinch hitting ruckman playing fwd but i could be VERY wrong, he is clearly still a long way off AFL level - but exciting!

thanks for the feedback.

@ Adnre

Thanks Mate. solid advice, have to see Yarran and the point you make on L Davis is GOLD, I should have but have not considered that possible outcome for Yarran yet....

I am set on Ball biggest cash cow of the season, averaged close to 100 4 seasons in a row. But I could make some changes to get yarran in - defence does feel..... vulnerable. and cloke can be spared in the fwd line given the mid priced options there....

food for thought thanks for the comments.

Three backs is risky but maybe only because of the scoring of rookies? If you are going to have 5 rooks I got one word for you ... Brown ;)

:o  I think you have gone delirious ???  Where is Beams?

Unique forwood line nothing really wrong with it, but will Cloke go over a 95-100 to be viable? Probably need 100+ to be a keeper

Solid midfield, some big scores in there, take the 120 a week from Jelwood

GM

Nice team Colli,
Of course Clokey gets a run in your team.lol.
I am sure he will not have a year like last year mate.I have him in Sportsbet but just can't fit him in here.
Only issue for me is Greg in Def,would look better with Hanley or Heppel imo.
I know you love Bally aswell but a downgrade there to Ollie would free up $ to get J.Russell or Varcoe or ?.
Just throwing a few out there.
I like M.Wright to as a good pod.
Cheers GM

I know Beams is ELITE - love him, first picked in every fantasy team I have, except this one.

just think he will get tagged, think he will handle it, but his disposals will be under more pressure which will hurt here in SC.

could be wrong but the choice for Beams is between Ablett Swan Pendles Beams (Ball being a Lock) I can only have 3 of the 4 elites.

Brown hey - I will watch your Brown over the remainder of the Nab Cup, not sold on terlich or Goodes will depend who plays well in nab cup and is named for round 1 I guess. Goodes needs to be upgraded for a start, which apparently he can be and should be.

@ Green Monn - Thanks I am seriously considering Russell but he is not cheap however should be a lock in the 22. Broughton may be best in DT i do have concerns about him in SC.

As for upgrade i'm not sure on heppell for below reason, maybe hanley or stanley plenty of good options i guess...

I have concerns about any bombers player not named watson or stanton (i guess) not that i ever pick him.

just seems to take forever ( longer than usual) for all the potential stars to develop at essendon - monfries, crameri, myers, meksham, dempsey, hurley, pears, zaka, carlisle, colyer...

every one a first round pick - none have broken out. not really and if they have well they havent kicked on...

Jay

Looks good CW

Wouldnt go Broughts, will frustrate the hell out of you. Thimk D3 needs to be a Shaw/Birch if your going 3prems and the rest rooks, strategy

Mids are too pie-heavy. Sack one of Swan/Ball

Love the picks of Wright and Maric

Cloke is shower against good teams, am sure there are better options.

With Broughts and Cloke, get ready for a rollercoaster. Good luck :)

creeker

I'm not a big fan of the thin backlines but I know why they are popular. Just have to make sure you get 6 players on the park each week.
Great mids here Colliwobblers although  I don't think Ball is 100% yet.
Excellent rucks.
Foward line cool except for your man Cloke ha ha. We will call him your calculated punt.

Great work Colliwobblers, good luck.

Colliwobblers

Have given some thought to the following not sold on it yet, and it would only work if i find 4 solid basement priced mid rooks as in one more than the 3 i have and out kane mitchell.

Cloke - Varcoe

Ball - Fyfe

This allows me to only spend $450K on that #3 defender meaning pretty much broughton or heppell.

I was going to start chaplin but think he wont be 100% round 1.

Was also looking at lake at one stage but that would be brave :)

not sure i need fyfe at mid 6 so the other option would be ball - rook and upgrade both cloke and broughton.

just Ball will make me $200k and score me 80-100 while rooks will make the same maybe more while scoring 50-80 ?

Ball always intending to be moved on before the byes.

You realise this would mean 2 less collingwood players?!

LOL it's not my fault they are all guns :)

if i had emough money i could get krak instead of varcoe, but surely he cant repeat his 2011 so no pass.

Shaw I can't afford but i will get him in later....

Kennedy will smash it once he debuts if he debuts.

Beams is a must in he will come once upgrades start

who else.....

Russell in defence should be a revelation  :o  brave enough to start him? i think not
