Took some advice given about my earlier team, decided to scrap the mediums and just go guns n rooks. Saw Jimmy play last night, looked good. Dunno about Wines but the word on the street is that he's the man. Chose Rowe because I liked his RUC/FWD. Could be handy throwing Cox or Roughie in there if shower hits the fan. Rest of the rooks are just there to fill space until after the NAB cup determines their form. Thoughts?

Pretty solid team I reckon, like the extra cash spend in DEF & FWD
DEF: Like it but am grappling with waters selection myself, epic defender obviously but feel like he'll charge headfirst into someone n get himself a couple of weeks... at least once, maybe a 'later on' selection?
MIDS: Feel Priddis is never gonna be one of the top 10 mids and as such you're gonna have to burn a trade at some stage to boot him out. Swan over pendles for me.
RUCK: I'm personally confused why everyone's going nuts for goldy, unconvinced he's gonna score as well as maric/cox/sandi
FWD: Injury cloud over Pavlich, Maybe rockcliff/walker a better option?

Just my 2c, all the best!

nick's 2c worth is worth more than 2c.

Waters - too risky and underdone.

Also, I think defence is where you can take a risk with least damage if it doesn't come off - eg Grab Yarran / Atley or someone and if they 'flop' they'll get you 70 - 80 anyway and with top guys only gettin 100 you won't lose too much.

Compared to mid and even fwd - Ball / Embley / Moloney etc might lose you 40 ppg if they don't pick up like you'd hope.

So what I suggest is offload Waters for a slightly risky mid pricer and use the money elsewhere.

That elsewhere would be making Priddis into Ablett if you can.

If not enough, then you are being a bit indulgent grabbing 2 really expensive rookies.

Also Goldy? Just my opinion that.

Good solid forward line. Is Pav OK?

Good luck.

Interesting comments, much appreciated!!

I'm not 100% sold on waters either, IMO none of the backs are really convincing choices this year for the price! Seen a few people jumping on Atley, could be an option but I'd have to see how he goes through the next 2 NAB rounds.

Upgrade Priddis to who? He already is elite.. Best part? Nobody rates him, therefore making him unique. The bloke is very consistent.. rarely drops under 100ppg and has averaged over 100 since 2009!

Jury is still out on Goldy, but of a risk. Wasn't amazing last year but had a good year in 2011. He's only young so I'm backing him to come good this year! The extra 100k he saves is very handy.

I havn't heard any Pav injury news?!

Thanks for giving me something to think about guys!!

instead of Waters i'd look at Heppell or Grimes both look set for plenty of midfield time and will save you some cash

instead of Priddis i'd rather someone like Shuey/Fyfe who could go to that next level

i'm not a fan of having 4 key position players in the forward line i'd want atleast 2 M/F types as premiums but that is a personal opinion

if you went Waters to Heppell/Grimes then Pavlich to a 450-500k M/F you could then get Varcoe or a midpricer in at F5 would balance your team really well

QuoteFREMANTLE captain Matthew Pavlich could join full training as early as next week after recovering from back surgery with a view to playing in one of the club's final two NAB Cup matches.

Looks like he'll be good for round 1, but maybe give him a couple of weeks?

Like it Gunnerzzz ! 3 suggestions.
Waters to Hanley, Pav to Rockliff and Ball to Moloney.
Waters, Ball and Pav not trackin to well just yet, may be a little risky.

Some good idea's there! Didn't see Hanley play last night? will have to see how he goes over the next 2 games if he plays.  Gunna roll with either the origional version or this new one:

Really good mate only suggestion I can give is downgrade shaw to like hanly or Hartlett  and midfield no faults there and forward line too many ruck players maybe swap rough head to a mid player like de bour or wright as midfield players will score more and with hawks hard run that looks best option. Other then that I can see some work still needs to be done. Can you rate my one please

Downgraded Shaw to Hartlett, figure they will score the same as long as Hartlett stays fit.
Havn't been convinced Atley's score will justify paying an extra $280k for so I downgraded him to Brown.
Brought in Broughts over cox and used the money to get Gaff in the midfield, 50k on Priddis to Danger and either Cornelius or Karnezis in the forward line. Hoping Brought's will average high 90's in his new side.
Still tossing and turning over Swan/Pendles.

Oh yeah and I squeezed Gablett in there.

Any thoughts? I kinda like both teams now that I have revisited this thread  :o
