Getting excited, who is getting ready around Melbourne? and who can give me an idea of what to expect?

Yep, gearing up for mine too mate, in WA though.

This is what I expect... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmWIvxxEEyE&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I went on Thursday, didn't like it much. I guess that's probably because I lack social skills and am awkward. I supposed I expected activities that allowed people to get to know each other and stuff that was actually helpful. I picked up a bit of handy information but for the most part stuff was useless. I ended up leaving before half the day was done at like 12:30pm. Basically gonna walk in to Tuesday (when my first class is) as clueless as I was before Thursday...

heard it was pointless, so didn't go last year :P
you can join clubs and shower,  but if you're 2 hours away like me and have 25+ hours of facetime a semester, no real point :P

They also played us this at the start of the day, thought it was interesting...  :P

I have to go pick up some books next Wed, so basically will go O-week that day and maybe next one if a friend goes to his things :P. Otherwise, isn't a great help for me. I had to go to 2 Orientations last year, one for each degree I'm doing... Ditched like half of both ::).

Depends on the university...some are more helpful than others. What uni are you attending? Feel free to PM me if you don't want it out in the open, but there are a few of us at Monash :)

As I am a social favour like others... Living on campus @ uni is the best, as you're forced to make friends and shower and it's awesome.

My main point was, if you live on campus O Week is awesome.

However now that I attend a different campus, local to where I live, in a different course, I didn't attend O Week (although apparently maybe I was meant to go?)

But I imagine it'd be pretty average if you don't live on campus. O Week on campus is great fun.
