What do we think after Nab 1?

Mat0369

I am thinking Daw will be the back up if they do take in an extra ruck. Not sure if this hurts him as much as say Currie who does not look like he can play forward. Goldy has to shoulder the majority of the ruck load to score well. Come round 1, if he and Petrie are the only two ruck options named then I will feel safe with him.

felsty

dont take anything out of these cock-a-hoop round robin games

wait for the next couple of full praccy matches

signs arent too positive atm though

Sounds horrible but I wouldnt mind him getting a long term injury for the year and Currie or Daw move into the #1 ruck role. Think they would be more than capable and a lock for R2

But only after or uring round one so we get the advantage over those that pick the potato farmer

I have Goldy in at the moment and was just looking at the other rucks available around his price.

Kreuzer, Griffin, Mumford and Bellchambers are all cheaper. Mummy had the injury problems last year, but if he is fit, I think he is ranked ahead of Goldy, Kreuz is to inconsistent for my liking, Bellchambers has taken the number 1 mantle at the Dons but it depends on how they want to use him and Ryder. Griffin is the interesting one with Sandi out. Is he worth picking up since Sandis body seems to have let him down yet again. Would be a POD but you might have to trade him out around round 6 if Sandilands recovers and comes back into the team.

That's All

Firstly, that's a picture...not a word.

And secondly, Goldy averaged 99.4 in 2011 and is far from a spud.

Ziplock

haha, 5 points from 2 NAB cup matches :P

That's All

It only matters what he averages in 2013 now. and it won't be 99.4 please pick him and good luck for the season but he needs a couple more years to develop his tank and get the other parts of his game up to a much higher level.

His tap work is excellent, that will suffer a bit due to the new rules but he is a great tap ruckman, but if you can explain to me how he is good in any other way please do?

athletic ruckman will dominate under the new rules, Goldy said so himself, and Goldy is not an athletic ruckman.

Just saying.... no need to get yourself all upset.

2011 is history and wont earn you one point in 2013. In saying that its still just a dodgey half a game system we are judging a player on so untill the full game stuff gets going i wont get real critical but havent been a fan of Goldys from the get go when for a bit more money you can be more assured of the avg people are seeking from Goldy. A better SC player than DT but the NAB games would have a few pondering him still, no harm in waiting a bit longer to decide.

2011 is history, and history is still the best indicator when we are picking our players for a new season.

How many people do you think would be picking Dane Swan if he didn't have such an awesome DT history?

Goldy has proven he can get a 99 average in DT, he is the only viable ruck option at North, is in his mid 20's and is a bargain priced at 15-20 ppg less than what he should average.

As for his NAB cup...do you really think North was going to push him, give him a load of time on the ground and potentially have him break down or get injured considering they have no realistic back-up ruck options? - They aren't exactly in a position to do that. He will come out fit and firing in round 1.
