If Brent Macaffer was not to play round 1 of the home and way season not only myself but many, many other Dream Teamers would be affected. Personally i don't think he is in their best 22 and will not be featuring in their round 1 side. If i am in fact correct i think that the only way to go would be to weaken your backline so that you have only 3 premiums so that you can afford to have 4 premium forwards along with 2 mid pricers e.g. Byrnes, Varcoe, Knights. I dont think that there is even 1 rookie that is even close to being guarenteed a spot in there teams 22 come round. If this is the case i think that the only way to go is what i stated above. What are everyone's thoughts on this issue? What will you be doing if Macaffer doesn't play? This could turn out to be a big issue!

I think he is a fair chance of playing but if not you make a great point..

He is currently my F6 and with not much cash my only option would be to upgrade him and downgrade somewhere else.

Hopefully he gets named.

Valid points you raised and certainly some food for thought.

Personally, I'd probably go with the 3 premiums at the back and 1 mid pricer (Russell) and have the cash for a forward line that will actually take to the field in round 1 and so scores me loads of points, instead of going with rookies whose JS you're not sure about.

Im going with the Neade/Stringer/Lee combo i see Macaffer as a prime candidate to get the vest next year.

Byrnes is my M6 already anyway, so l'm not all that concerned. But l do think Macaffer is in Collingwoods best 22 and will play rnd1 and all season

Yeah i agree! Hopefully he does get named. I just do not believe that he is in there best 22. If not, as i said before i reckon the best way to go would be to have only 3 premium backs. That way you can afford to have 4 premium forwards along with two mid pricers. The reason i believe this is that in every other position there are fairly strong rookie stocks e.g Backline: Pittard, Terlich, Stevenson, Heath, Docherty, Van Unen, Staker. Midfield: O'meara, Viney, Wines, Mitchell, Goodes, Crouch. Rucks: Daw, Witts, Currie and Grundy. The forward line rookies are by far the worst and i think that you have to cash in other positions.

Come round one, we will have the rookies that are named. No use stressing about it too much.  8)

Yeah, that is exactly my thinking there. Agree 100%.

I would be very suprised if they play. The only one who i think is a chance is Neade.

Go the Caff Man.....not a rookie by the way...I would have thought the pies vest would be a midfielder... 8)

Yeah i know mate, but he is at a rookie price. He may not get the green vest but he would be likely to get the red vest!
