Taking S.Johnson because I'm not worried about my overall score. Just wondering if I have too many mid-range players in yarran, ball and varcoe?

DEF: Solid line. Only concern is Yarran so just watch him in NAB Cup to see what role he will be playing this year.

MIDS: 4 super prems and a mid pricer. A tactic that a lot of teams are going for this year. Hopefully Ball can lift his average to around about 95 and make you some cash to upgrade to another super prem later on.

RUCKS: Good POD in Jacobs. I think he can increase his average to around the 110 mark this year.

FWDS: Solid choices on this line as well. 4 keepers and a mid pricer. A good option this year with the lack of quality fwd rookies.

I guess the only issue I see here is that in my opinion you have just 13 keepers in your side if you include Leuy who I think could become a keeper this year. I think starting with 14 potential keepers should be the bare minimum. Apart from that it's a great looking side which I give an 8/10.

Yarran has been picked in a lot of teams as we believe under Malthouse it's possible he could average 90ish. If thats the case you have your D6 right there cheap and from the start.
The idea behind ball/embley etc is we believe they can score 85-95 points per game and rise in value the same amount as a rookie (roughly 250k) and score slightly higher for overall points.
Varcoe is a handy pick this year because of the lack of JS for fwd rookies, having Varcoe come in and score 75ish and not have to worry about it is comforting in the lean fwd line rookie options this year.

So i think all of those are valid selections, in my personal opinion though i think you have slightly overspent in the fwds 2 600k+ players and 2 500k+ players. This means that Ball is your best option at M5 and i would personally prefer someone like Mundy/Fyfe sitting there as a potential M8 keeper.
I like the inclusion of Gorringe because if GC play 2 rucks he is deff in, however i think they will probably persevere with a tall fwd like Dixon. Possibly trade Gorringe to Sinclair/Rowe for a bit of coin and to have the flex of moving Cox back in the Rucks if needed
