Hi As of Yesterday a team has become available for ownership in the AXVS competition, the team is in need of a new owner/ head coach.

The team is the KL Crocodiles.

I thank Maca24 adn Sid for their efforts and commitment thus far but Maca24 being the official owner has decided to hang the team back to me in order to have someone with more time to put into it run it.

Very happy that Maca24 did the right thing here and thought of the league and other coaches but sad to see him go.

I have decided to LIMIT the applicants for this team, give nthe time of the season we are at and my own preferences at this stage to the following criteria.

ONLY FF members who meet the following criteria are able to nominate themselves for the role, and I will decide whether I will make an executive decision or put the role to the vote from all AXVS head coaches.

CRITERIA:

1. You must be an assistant coach of an AXVS team. OR You must be Ricochet ( our coach in waiting).
2. You must NOT already be a senior coach of any XVS team in any of the other XVS competitions.
3. You must be committed to owning, running and coaching this team for the entire 2013 season through to competition.

Nominations won't be taken from 3rd parties, applicants must self nominate. Here in this thread. If you want to recommend someone PM them and advise them if they qualify and are interested to apply in this thread.

APPLICANTS

1. Memphistopheles
2. Ricochet
3. SydneyRox

Memphistopheles

Hi everyone,

I'm sure you all now know who I am now as I've been very active as the assistant coach of the Kathmandu Eskimos ever since I started about a week and a half ago.

Based on that experience (it's been awesome so far) I would like to apply for the head coach job at the KL Crocodiles. I am not a head coach in any other leagues though I am a newly appointed assistant to JBs-Hawks in the Euros.

These past couple of weeks have given me a good grip on the Sportsbet scoring system and I've signed up to play the comp in four competitive leagues so far.

I have a job where I sit on a computer most of the day on the Internet (if anyone's interested I'm a digital journalist) so am never too far away from fanfooty (especially on slow news days :P).

I have an active user in the last two AFL seasons and had I been involved in this or had a reason to come here over the off season I would have been active then as we'll. I like to get involved in debates and comment on teams, players and trades.

I haven't had too much of a look at the KL Crocodiles team so far but I'll take a look now and let you know what I think. From memory they have a good young team, with reasonable depth capable of scoring a few upsets this season.

They won,t be challenging for the titIe this season but with some luck a top 8 finish is not out of the question. I will work hard on the team next season in the trade/draft period as I think it needs to improve to either challenge the strong teams next season or to bea real threat among the teams going for youth.

I'd also like to add that if I do get the job I want to thank KoopKicka for taking me on as an assistant - it's been great and I think your team has great potential for the future (love that midfield).

Cheers, Memph.

I'd vote for Memph ahead of pretty much any other coach other than Phasir.

Memph you have been a great and VERY active assistant and were great to talk trades with. You put the "rad" in trade. You weren't a headache to talk trades with like some coaches can be. So I wish you good luck and if you do get voted in I hope you keep it up.

they will be allowed to and encouraged to next time.

the reason I am doing this this time, is Ricochet asked me long ago if he could be considered for a head coaching job if and when one comes up, he was the first and so far only person to have asked.

So i kind of thought that put him at the top of the list, he is not head coach of any XVS teams, he is assistant coach to several in other comps same as your guys are,

i could add them all to the vote if they were all interested but i figured since i have had ricochet listed as a coach in waiting for so long he would get the votes simply for having been interested and waiting longest?

the other thing i wanted to do was give assistant coaches already involved in AXVS a chance to apply IF they coach no other teams, I don't want to be biased but i think it is nice to promote from within ?

I'll have a chat to the coaches of the teams here and get some thoughts on it , certainly don't want to turn good candidates away from out side AXVS and there is every chance some of them have been assistants in worlds and euros for a long time waiting for a team.

but again the reason i haven't asked for applicants outside AXVS is we already have ricochet who is one of those who has been an assistant ( i think) in worlds and or euros for a long time.

I think it might be a good idea to have a list started of assistant coaches who want teams and are head coach of none FROM ALL THE XVS so whenever a team becomes available in ANY of the XVS comps we have a ready made list of interested assistant coaches in some kind of order of when they expressed interest in taking on a team on their own, if that makes sense?

I'm not rushing this decision so leave it with me I'll have some discussions and see what we come up with.

- Extremely active Fan Footy member.
- Highly motivated to succeed.
- Ability to prioritise, organise and complete work within set time periods (... on FF, meaning no real life work gets done :P )
- Committed to professional ethics and standards

Employment History
At the beginning on the 2012 season I joined the Belgium Bashers as an Assistant to Elephants and FARK. The team had an average year spending most of 2012 near the bottom of the ladder, but somehow scraped into the finals only to be knocked out. We identified our weaknesses and traded very aggressively. Turning an average side into one of the Premiership favourites.

When the British League was created, I was recruited by Spite and Elephants as an Assistant at the Hebden Bridge Hedgehogs. We believe we have successfully drafted a very young top 4 side, that has a lot of promise for the future. We have also traded well and secured a number of quality players without losing too much quality.

Recently I have joined Nigey and Major Lazer at the Cairo Sands in the Worlds XVs. Being involved in the Worlds Competition was a goal of mine, being the original XV comp. I have only been at the Sands for a short period, but in this time I have brought in one trade which significantly boosted our midfield with only losing backline and fwd depth.

Team Assessment
Being such a young team I will look at a possible line up 2 years from now (without any trading).
Gibbs will obviously lose defender status after Mick stating he will play midfield this year.
Jetta is another that could possibly lose fwd status.
Age for two years time is also shown.

DEF: Harry Taylor (29), Dylan Grimes (24), Phil Davis (25), Jackson Trengove(25)
MID: Trent Cotchin (25), Bryce Gibbs (26), Harley Bennell (23), Daniel Rich (25)
RUC: Tom Bellchambers (26)
FWD: Mark LeCras (29), Lewis Jetta (26), Michael Hurley (25), Eddie Betts (29)
UTI: Josh Caddy (23), Stephen Coniglio (22)
________________________________________

DEF: James Frawley (27), Luke Tapscott (24), Dylan Addison (28), Zac Tuohy(26), Tayte Pears (25), Steven May (23), Kamdyn McIntosh (21)
MID: Tom Liberatore (23), Claye Beams (24), Koby Stevens (24), Elliot Kavanagh (22), Tom Ledger (23), Dean Towers (25), Nick Graham (21), Will Hams (21)
RUC: Brodie Grundy (21), Angus Graham (28), Tom Hickey (24), Dawson Simpson (26)
FWD: Jordan Murdoch (22), Ahmed Saad (26), Mitch Morton (28), Nick O'Brien (22), Tom Curren (23)

Age:
... is not an issue. With a lot of these young guns hitting the prime fantasy age, the Crocs have no problems here. Lecras, Betts and Taylor will easily be the oldest on the list but at 29, there is still a couple of years left in the old fellas.

Balance:
Its quite obvious the Crocs are top heavy through the midfield with the depth here being quite impressive. This has come at a cost though, especially in defence. This line will be the focus in future drafts and trading. The Rucks show a lot of promise and cannot see this line being a problem in the future. The forward line also has talent but is lacking a premium scorer.

Scoring:
Again, the midfield is a standout line. Cotchin, Gibbs, Bennell, Conigs, Caddy, Libba are either already stars or will be in the future. This really is the engine room for this team in terms of scoring. But again, the backline suffers because of it.

Future Trading:
1-2 Premium Defenders along with 1 Premium fwd will be targeted in any future trading. Future drafts will also target these lines because while there is talent there, they are just not up to scratch if we want to compete with the best.
