i think they should stop tinkering around with the rules and focus on the big picture, if they re thinking a team tanked go and have a look at all other teams that were heading to the bottom, i see no issues with blooding the youngins and trying a few things but if discussions take place to do it only for a loss then they need to be fined.

so let me get this right. 500 k because two ex employees discussed it? holy hell. i would of though 500 k would be minimum fine for tanking not discussing it between two people only. crows lost 300 k and draft picks for stuffing up with a contract, the comparison in fines doesn't seem to suit, saying if its tanking for 500 k is better then paying one player under the table or 500 k for a discussion is alot considering you could almost pay two players under the table and be caught for it

The more you think about it mate the more ridiculous it gets.

yea same with the drug saga, stamp down hard on it and catch the culprits, you know i m a crows supporter grazz i say in the tippet saga the afl should went through the crows with a fine tooth comb if they didn't already then proceed to do all other clubs. if they think tippet was the only one they have got the heads up their arse not in the sand. whilst i am sure they managed to make it legit where as the crows seemed to have shot themselves in the foot with their poor dodgy contract skills the word Visy always springs to mind when thinking about potential player payments from a third party, that the AFL should suss out in greater detail.

the AFL instead of changing rules that in my opinion don't make a change or add value (the no rush behind i don't mind, that was a decent one) or trying to expand the system maybe focus on the key things, instead of adding two teams they should of endeavored to bring the bottom four up. give them the concessions the new teams had. we wouldnt have two bottom feeder teams who unless they are heavily front loading some contracts arent going to retain all these talented youngesters anyway and if they manage to do these clubs will become powerhouses in no time (i dont actually think this will happen) and the bottom four teams will still be lagging down the bottom.

this would solve tanking issues also because no need to tank if you have someone giving you the picks because your team is struggling

I have no doubt the Crows are not alone in the fudging of caps mate but the AFL's view is don't look to hard or you might just find something. They prefer a head in the sand approach of see no evil speak no evil. They were warned years ago about drugs in sport but chose to ignore, even went to court and had injunctions placed on certain members of the media so certain things couldn't be aired in a public forum. I don't get the mentality of if you don't speak about it then it will go away, rarely ever does mate.

The three strikes policy and dob yourself in policy if using drugs is just another example of keeping things quiet, does not address the problem or assist in stopping it just shows the game in a better light which is entirely false.

We all know as they do at least 5 teams were involved in tanking over the last decade yet they go After the Dee's for it and then find them not guilty but fine them 500k for a lesser charge. So what happens if they do in the future find someone guilty of tanking in the future the fine would need to be close to 1 million as well as draft picks, for this reason alone i feel they've painted themselves into a corner and have no intention of going after anyone else for it. I to am a Crows supporter and feel if the Dee's are innocent then the punishment the Crows received is ridiculously low in comparison to what the Dee's receive monetary wise. We were found guilty they were found innocent.

I'm convinced the game is being run by fools who have seen every thing they've overlooked and ignored come back to bite them in the butt which was always going to happen sooner or later but Demetriou is to ignorant to understand that. Under his watch the credibility of the game has reached its lowest ebb in the time Ive watched the VFL/AFL and i have little faith in those at the top to fix it, i believe they will continue to hide as much as possible and talk it down as much as possible in order to save themselves from the embarrassment of having to admit under my watch we have failed miserably, Demetriou's ego wont allow him to admit that he has failed to protect the competitions integrity in order to protect his own. I like you and many others am just tired of one revelation after another dragging our great game down because soemone chose to ignore rather than react. He and anyone else party to it sickens me, they were/are paid extremely well and this is what the football public get for their money, its nothing but a shame. I need to stop lol. :-X
