Supercoach Draft League Puzzler...

G'day folks. I know how knowledgable you all are, and as such I bet someone can answer this question.

We're starting up an eight-coach draft league at work. If we set the competition to repeat the draw twice, with a finals series, and choose to start at round one - does that mean our competition will end at round 18? Or will it make us play extra games against each other to take it through to the last round of the AFL season?

It's a massive point of contention with the boys at work right now - the website gives us the option to start at any round between 1 and 6. Of course, we want to be able to bag each other out for the whole season, not just part of it.

Anyone know the answer to this?

As far as my knowledge goes, it'll have to end there and wont go for a full season if you only have 8 players. But I may not be the best person to ask- This was just my understanding of it when reading through.

I recommend Ultimate Footy for draft style AFL, they've been doing it for years and have mastered it. The site has everything and has now partnered with The Age, neither Supercoach or AFL Fantasy can hold a candle to it at the moment in my opinion.

It depends if league games happen during the 3 bye rounds?,,(You probably wouldnt want to play during bye rounds.)
  If not then it will run from round 1 to 21  (thats if its a 4 round finals series in an 8 man league)

Yeah the issue we're having with the Supercoach variety at the moment is the lack of information that we're able to glean from the website. We don't want to set up the league until we know the answers, as I'm guessing the league settings probably can't be changed later.

It also doesn't tell us whether leagues run during the bye rounds. Might have to go with the advice from Escapist and see if I can talk the boys into switching to Ultimate Footy.

We have 2 FF leagues running at ultimate footy currently i can send some details for those that are keen.

Had a quick look, in SC an 8 man league playing each team twice including 4 weeks for finals. Starts round 3 and byes count.

I dont think there is an option to turn byes off.

Ultimate footy will give you alot more options than SC, when it comes to setting up a league.
