Well quite interesting selections. It will be a spin friendly wicket and we have only Lyon and pup for a few overs. Henriques was apparently quite adept to reverse swing and took a few wickets in the tour matches. Kawaja again misses out, he should have made a few more in the lead up matches. Maybe he needs to wait for Cowen to go.

Good luck to Australia but it reminds me so much of the era around 1983 when Allen Border needed to rebuild the team and we had so many failures. I feel there will be a lot of pain in the coming 18 months especially with Poms stirring us.
Why do people say Australian cricket is in its worst ever position? We are still 3rd in the Test rankings and really are the 3rd best team in the world. We have the talent there, we are just going through a small rebuilding phase. That is what happens to teams when they lose all time greats who can never be replaced. Don't worry, in a couple of years, we will be back at the top.

I think that a good team was selected. Our strength is pace bowling, so go with pace bowling. It is a spin friendly wicket so quite a bit will be left to Lyon but I would not be surprised if Warner gets quite a few overs, I'm not too sure on whether or not Clarke will bowl much at all. He does have the ability to rip through line up though. He did take a 6-fer in the Windies last year.
And dont forget his 6/9!!

A good first session from the Aussies for sure. Made 126/2 from 34 overs with Warner 58 off 88 and Watson 28 off 56 at the crease. Both look good ticking the score over and rotating the strike easily. Watson does look in good form, still I would rather see him opening with Warner.

Might be before England!

Wow 34 overs :o  have they only got spinners in their team ::)

Cowan actually looked good believe it or not..Bad dismissal but looked aggressive.

He did actually which is not what I have seen much from him. He scored 29 off 45 with 4 4s and a 6. He dismissal was pretty horrible, he was no where near the ball when he got stumped. But I think that might be the way to play for him, go out there and get his runs quickly because he's going to get out sooner or later anyway.

Michael Clarke with 7000 runs

I have to admit I put $30 on India to win. Clarke should have been out, he's very good but he's also been very lucky in the past 8 months.

Do people think Clarke could get to 10,000 runs? He needs another 3,000 obviously, but I wonder how long he has left. I guess it depends on how his back injury goes.

"Day one pitch, more like day 8."   :P

Henriques has looked good.

Hav'nt seen none of the test ( don't have Fox ) but anyway, Pup. DId'nt reallt gel with him at the start of his career ( especially the Lara Bingle period ) but we've got to give him credit, he's carried us through some bad starts latley, and he's getting more respect, from me at least lol, whats ur take on him?. PS i did read ( i think on FF, not sure ) , that he shoukd of been given out earlier, but he seems to be getting the job done with regularity
