Fastest 100 on debut for Shikhar Dhawan

http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-australia-2013/engine/current/match/598814.html

Siddle to Dhawan, 5 runs, he rushes for al almost suicidal single, puts a dive in, makes it, stands up with arms in the air as if he has conquered the world.

And he has actually. Short of a length, goes deep into the crease to push this towards cover, but starts running even off the back foot.

He is struggling but puts a desperate dive in. This has to be the fastest hundred on debut. Hugs from Vijay, applause from the dressing room. He can twirl that mo' a little more. Merv Hughes was right after all

Why didn't they appeal for Dhawan to be out at the start of the innings? >:(

tbagrocks

I know a great idea! Let's drop our good bowlers for this test! :o :P ::)  because that has worked out well ???

BB67th

You know Merv Hughes looked alright when he took that crowd catch last week. Get him back into the team!

PowerBug

What the flower happened? ;D ;D ;D 408 is a more than respectable score, maybe the Indian's will still find a way to win this test. :P

India are 0/283 at stumps. That is not a typo....

Dhawan (THE DEBUTANT!!!!) is on 185 off 168 balls with 33 fours and 2 sixes

Murali Vijay is on 81 as well.

Nails

Knew we'd manage to flower it up.

Dhawan showing just how flat the track is.

But really, what are people's opinions on this? By the letter of the law Dhawan was backing up and was out of his crease and Starc had the right to hit the stumps when he did, even if it was by accident. I know there is the whole spirit of the game debate, but why is it even in the rule book if no one is ever going to appeal for it?

Interesting point, I haven't seen it on TV, but yeah I bet they wished they appealed for it now   ::)

Back in the day (like pre 1900s) everyone played with 7-2 or even 8-1 fields. If you hit the ball to the leg side you were considered to be a bad sport, as hitting the ball where 8 fielders could gather the ball was the right thing to do. :)

Clarke actually used the symbol for the 3rd umpire but he wasn't smart enough to tell the umpire to use it

but its very rare that you can get someone out mankading

BB67th

Hughes swinging at everything at the moment. He knows he's going to get dropped for the next test so he might as well have a crack at the pacemen while they are still on!

BB67th

Oh no, Smith padded up to come in next, and Clarkey has been off the field for quite a bit of the day. Looks like the back is playing up again. Lets hope he can still bat tomorrow and get us to a draw here.

4 games of cricket going on atm. (one is at stumps) Cricketmania!! Not as good as the 25th of November last year though, where all four were test matches 8)

India still a shot at taking this series 4-0. Believe Indians! (Although i'll be happy if the two guys i respect in this XI can bat the Aussies to safety) :)
