Now doherty and Patto need to score 70 each and that's just to make India bat again. An absolute thrashing.

Hawka

Couldnt even make 80 runs more today

Windigo

Home ground advantage.  ::)

Hughes will do complete crap in India and don't expect anything from him at all. Don't expect much from the Aussies as a team really. Phil can't play spin yet, but I think he can learn for later tours. If we are to succeed in the Ashes we need Hughes to fire and to make some big scores. Dropping him now would have no use at all.

Also, when does Joe Burns get a run?
Hughes has been out to spin 4 times for a total of 25 runs. I would much rather have Khawaja play against India first of all, and also in the ashes.  We must be competitive in this series, and what is the point of playing Hughes if he will do "complete crap"? That will do no good for his confidence or that of Australia.

Hughes is the best young batsman in Australia and is clearly viewed as a player of the future. India is an extremely hard place to bat, especially if it is your first time in India. Hughes needs to experience Indian conditions and the only way to do that is by playing games. There is no use dropping him now. The same goes for Warner and Cowan. They may not score alot of runs this series, but the next time they play a series in India they will.

Khawaja's time will come but it won't be now and it won't be in Phil Hughes's position.

With all the forward planning and coaching of players over the years how the hell has Hughes never played in India before. We have had Australia A going over the a few times in the past. Its just not good enough to expect him to learn during a major test series. Drop him for the last two test bring him back for the Ashes. Put Khawaja in now.

He's struggled against the Indian spinners, so wouldn't you let him play the next two in hope he improves against the spin? He'll be in the Ashes squad and that's even more major a test series than this one. If he's gonna learn, it will have to be now against the likes of Ashwin and Jadeja. Surely they can't take him out and then feed him to even better spin bowlers in Swanny and Monty? That would be silly. If anything, bring in Khawaja at that hack Cowan's expense.

Nigey... Cowan actually showed some balls today and grinded it out. Can still be a successful opening batsman IMO. Just watch his ton earlier this summer, he has it in him...

Capper

I was watching the cric info commentary today and i saw this comment

Harsha: "ECB just granted BCCI some Visas and Air tickets to send its curators in July- Aug 2013"

Haha, trust the poms to try that

Still shouldn't be in the side. Khawaja > Cowan.

What an absolute disgrace! Couldn;t even put up half a fight. We are the definition of a one man team. Clarke gets a good ball and gets out cheap and no other batsman stands up. Disgrace to get rolled for 130 on a track the other team makes 500 on!
