QuoteLions utility Brent Staker successfully underwent a minor knee clean-up on Tuesday to remove a small amount of cartilage on his left knee â€" the opposite knee to last year’s reconstruction which saw him sidelined for the 2012 season.

Staker is expected to miss six to eight weeks.

Staker has played just seven games in the past two seasons after undergoing LARS surgery on his right knee in 2011, then a full reconstruction on the same knee later that year.

Ringo

Np reason to panic as worst case scenario he will miss game 1.

May have a slight setback with fitness but he was doing all pre season training prior to this so should be reasonably fit still.

GM

He will sit @ F7 in my team until he is ruled out until rd3 or4.
Imo you do not need everyone playing rd 1 if they resuming shortly after.

Nige

GM's got a good point, so long as F8 can be the emergency score if needed. Still gonna watch the NAB Cup with intent so that I can find out which rookie priced options are worth investing in.

Ringo

Reports are maybe round 3 in reserves and round 4 in Seniors. A sound strategy may be select the Brisbane forward that would be in the position if a rookie (Close, Paparone or Michael) are selected slot them to make some cash and then downgrade to Staker,

Grazz

Upgrade target now if a rookie is spuding it up. Bad luck was very popular amongst teams.  :(

Ringo

Looking at him today would say every part of the 8 weeks. Admittedly only 2 days after surgery though.

Very heavily bandaged and as you say proppy,  Has been doing all the training up to last week so fitness may not suffer as much.

Ringo

Still looking at Round 3 as possible earliest return - Spending a lot of time on the bike atm.
