Love this team mate, especially the inclusion of Sandy and Vlastuin.
Number one is assured Greek.  :P
This may well be your year for the post DSC crown, but rest assured that I will be waiting.

Windigo

Made a few changes to the squad after seeing the Tri-Series games. Nothing drastic.

Changes:

Sandi>Mumford: One of my fave rucks and has been in my side for most of pre-season TBH. Has a good start, looks under priced for what he can deliver. If you look at his stats last year they ain't that bad.

- Scored 80+ 8 times out of a possible 14 games.

Stanley>Heppell: I'm believing the hype around Hepp, should be a solid scorer and worth the price tag.

Vlastuin>Tambling: He won the B & F for his SANFL club last year and I think that gave him confidence leading into 2013. Far from a safe pick, but more good form in the NAB will decide his fate. At 200K and *some* chance to go 80+, I'd take that over a rookie as well. Could play the Doughty role for Adelaide IMO.

Staker>Paparone: Been setting the standard on the track and his just there simply because no one else is really appealing up front currently.  ;)

If you take a close look at the team, you may see that I'm only fielding a bare minimum of rookies. 2, 3 if you count the mature aged Goodes.  8)

I like the look of this... Tambling is a huge call in defence, when you consider there are decent rookie applicants such as Terlich and Stevenson who you haven't selected. But I've got my eye on him as well, I just feel Hartlett's got such a good start he's too hard to ignore? (along with the 3 other premium DEFs you've picked)

The forward line has a nice balance to it as well. I'm battling between Knights as more proven, or Byrnes for cheaper. Tough call, but probably can't go wrong with either.

mate, nice looking team
really not sure about Sylvia, sell him, tell me why hes needed?? haha

Tambling is a big risk but could pay off
like Mummy for a POD aswell

Jesse Lonergran a good alternative to Wines??

Swan-Ablett-Pendles is great! Wish I could fit those 3 in
I think Redden may be a bit over-rated compared to some other similar options

Both Roos rookie rucks?

Windigo

Cheers fellas.  ;)

The Bling is just speculative. If he averages 80+ then he is worth it, needs more good NAB to really sell me.

IMO, Lonergan is a good alternative to Wines. Both got big bodies and I'd rather Jesse TBH.

I can't have a team without Redden... :P

I reckon that both Currie & Daw will play games this year, maybe one takes the others place throughout the year.

As for Sylvia, he is a proven 90+ player and had an awesome end to the year. Is super value IMO. Mummy is there for the POD as you said. Just not getting much attention with McEvoy, Goldy ect stealing the limelight.

really like it mate, just a bit sceptical of the really weak DEF. the two rooks wont average more than 65 and Tambling could definitely average sub 70 (even though I've got him at D5 atm too)

but, the MID does make up for it!
however, I remember my team last year and Smedts, Ellis and Morris all just took so long to fluctuate in price  :-\

Windigo

If Bling shows good more good form the backs might not look as weak....He is only there pending more NAB games.

I'd rather Embers & Bling than field 3 mid rookies & a back option that will score/average around 90.

But when you look at the other teams on here. How many rookies are they fielding overall? I've got 4.

Yeah 2 DEF + 2 MIDs
I've got 3 MIDs + 1 DEF :p

Still liking the team, hope you can have a look at my team too mate, cheers  8)

mate Leigh Montagna is a proven 110+ player and dirt cheap and finsished ok last year but u dont see many people jumping on board

yeh i got bugger all rooks which most people dont

what newer DTers got to realise is that were not gonna get cows like we have had in the last 2 years, got to play pre 2011 DT

lolamusi

im not sold on varcoe and pittard tbh, i dont really think pittard will have the chance to avg. over 70+

also, considering that sylvia hasn't played a full season EVER. yeah. i know. he is pretty risky and could give you a killer 20 and an injury, which really will cut you out of the competition. but some same big risk high reward. i say, aaannnnd i quuuuote " low risk, high reward"

Windigo

I've had Colin a few times over the seasons, I'm fully aware of the risks.  :P

That's not a very good argument. Montagna's averages have declined due to form and because the Saints are shower now. You'll notice that most of thei Saints players DT output dropped after their last Grand Final series.

Sylvia's average was only affected because of his spine injury he sustained in the 2012 NAB cup. He came back in like round 3-4 (underdone) and it obviously ruined his scores with a 47 average in his first 6 games back. He regained full fitness after Melbournes bye and was back to the old Sylvia averaging 92 from round 13 onwards. Realistically, he'll average 90+, but is priced at 76. Massive value.

Love it Adamant!

Nice team Windi... For me the only real concern is Embley. For me i cant c him averaging much more than 85 this year so replacing him with a rook (maybe Hrovat -  u dont need him on field as such as u can play O'Meara) then use the 160k else where. Just my opinion but nice balanced team mate...
