$1,000 left:

Reason's on a few selections:

Stanley - Has a good draw and is one of GC better players, epic consistency and will be a great POD in the backline early.

Vlastuin - Originally had Staker, but with recent news I've swapped him out for this bloke, is pricey but Hardwick loves him and I reckon he could make an immediate impact for the Tigers.

Sandilands - Is destroying pre-season and an un-injured man mountain is capable of a 100+ DT average, making him somewhat a value pick.

Sylvia - Has been in my sides over the years quite a few times, I've got huge respect for him despite him burning me every time! But with all the trades he looks value, average of 90+ is a very realistic possibility. Making him value for money.

Varcoe - Was one I was pretty keen on early, is flying in pre-season and I'm interested to see how he goes in NAB. But the potential for Trav is boundless.

Byrnes - Slayed the VFL, and at his price it really is not much risk for a lot more reward. If he backfires, just downgrade him the best performing rookie, no worries.

Kennedy - Not keen on Tom Lee, Kennedy has great credentials and looks a great player for the Collingwood footy club for the future. Tough team to break into but that's why it's a Pre-Nab team. Rookies are all circumspect ATM.  ;)

______________

I like the 3 premium back strategy, there are 4 clearly defined back premos & the rest are all personal preference. But backs are simply not where the points are to be had. So I've selected back rookies with big frames and mature bodies.

I'm only playing 2 young rookies & 3 big bodied more "seasoned" players. Pittard's been in the system a while anyway.  :P

I just feel that up FWD there are soooo man value selections that it'd be a waste playing rookies there than say down back, forking out cash for a back premium that might just average 90.

I've been settled on this team for awhile now. Bring on NAB!

PS: I'm aware of Goodes & Mitchell being on the rookie list.  ;)

Nice Windi,
Very similar to mine,
See M.B has left the mid.
Yeah Stakers a blow but Vlastuin looks a chance.
Looking strong mate

Hey Windi, just posted my team and we have a few similarities. Looks like a really, really good side atm, but of course

changes will prolly be made close to the season proper. Which rooks and mid-pricers actually named in rnd 1, will

make a difference to the final team. Like the Sandi, Pittard and Sylvia picks

I wanted Boyd in, but Murphy's value sold me, all about value in this team.  :P

Backline is pretty weak, wouldnt run with 3 rookies, rest of the team looks pretty solid.

Windigo

That's true, but I'm banking on Pittard to be an above average scorer for his rookie price. Hopefully.  :P

Looks good Windi, I even put Varcoe in after looking at your team - changed a rookie to Varcoe at a cost of 120k.

Then I had a look at his career points. He's scored a ton only twice in his career since 2007. Mostly only averages in the 60's with a highhlight being 2010 where he averaged 75. I like the look of him when I watch games on TV but I'm not convinced yet as his best is 75 and if he delivers 60 its not setting the world on fire.

Well will need to see how he goes in the NAB.

Windigo

His stats don't flatter him. But for the last two-three years he has had injury troubles and a lack of opportunities.

I'm really looking forward to see how he goes in NAB, as I've only heard positive news coming from Geelong about him.

He has the flashiness, he just needs consistency.  ;)

2 words.... Love it!!

So so similar to mine it's scary. Only 5 players different across the board but I reckon my 5 will slightly out score urs!! Hehe nah but love it mate!!

Hey Windi

Nicely balanced.
No thoughts on a DPP rookie in your mids....in case?
You have 8 different premiums/midpricers to me...amazing...lol  ;D

Windigo

Haha, thanks T-Dog. I don't think DPP is as important this year TBH.  ;)

Love this team mate, especially the inclusion of Sandy and Vlastuin.

Wow, I never realized how many DPP's I had FWD. Might have to re-think that. Thanks.   :P
