Hey all,
So I'm roped into DT for the first time in 2013, and am in a league of mates who know what they are doing, so I'm in need of some constructive help/critisism to help me not have to carry around a wooden spoon for a year.

This is where I am at right now.

BACKS: B.Goddard, J.grimes, B.Gibbs, D.Heppell, J.Pittard, B.Goodes. (S.Docherty, D.Terlich)

MIDS D.Swan, M.Boyd, T.Cotchin, S.Pendelbury, L.Ball, A.Embley, O.Wines, B.Crouch. (J.O'Meara, J.Viney)

RUCKS T.Bellchambers, M.Leuenburger. (B.Grundy, D.Currie)

FORWARDS D.Cox, P.Chapman, T.Rockliff, A.Siposs, S.Byrnes, B.Macaffer. (B.Staker, T.Lee)

$800 left over.

I am a fairly happy with everything but the forward line. It IS a little weak, but I am hoping for some growth there and really cant see how to squeeze any more quality in without sacrificing elsewhere.

Thoughts?
Cheers.

betch ya

id get rid of boyd - good player but not worth his starting price. deledio is bout $20-30k cheaper or even murpphy/redden should give similar output and saving more money there. change chappy to steve johnson, dunno how much siposs is but u could trade him to a kennedy/krakouer.

if u are worried about ur FWD trade ball to a rookie and then use that money to upgrade a fwd. youd b pretty unlucky 2 get the spoon with that team

Pretty nice team
Backline good and pretty standard
Mids good
I would trade Chapman will not get as much mid time and his score will possibly suffer so trade him to Stevie J.
Rucks good just make sure your bench players actually get named round 1.

I would leave Siposs in your team pending NAB he is touted to take over Goddards role and could be a great pick.

Mr.Craig

You're probably better off dropping Boyd or Cotchin. Suddenly you can turn Siposs and Byrnes into premiums and it looks like a more balanced side.

Grimes>Birchall

Grimes will average like 5 more than Birch easily. No challenge.

What? Does 21 still > 20?

Therefore he played more games.

Revised Team as follows:

BACKS Goddard, Grimes, Gibbs, Heppell, Pittard, Docherty, (Terlich, Colquhoun)

MIDS Swan, Cotchin, Pendelbury, Redden, Embly, Toumpas, Wines, Couch, (O'Meara, Viney)

RUCKS Bellchambers, Leuenburger, (Grundy, Currie)

FORWARDS Cox, Johnson, Rockliff, Robinson, Siposs, Macaffer, (Staker, Lee)

$6500 left over

Feel a bit better about this team with another good forward, though now I have an extra '?' about fielding 3 unproven's in the mid. Guess thats a gamble that can pay off, and with 2 trades a round, not too hard to fix if it all goes pear.

Thoughts?

masher

nah mate your team is pretty much done for now until nab cup. im going in with same strategy with 3 rookie mids, dont worry theyll go up and if we went wrong those beautiful 48 trades will come in handy ;)
