i think i'll take selwod and i hate the guy (as a footballer), cant stand to watch him, ducking his head and always asking the umpire for a free kick, makes me sick, but he is SC gold, think i'll go cotchin for DT but selwood for SC easily.

i think he can and is still improving he is still just a kid and last season his first as skipper i would be surprised if he didn't improve a fair bit actually.

No I was talking about Selwood getting better, he was captain last season.

Cotchin I like to think will be better over their careers but I think for SC at least Selwood is a better option. But that's just my view.

Freako (prospectus -champion data) has 6 midifelders in his lift of 2013 Guns, Cotchin and Selwood are two of the 6, so maybe have them both.?

who are the other 4... Pendles Ablett Watson and Dangerfield

If being subbed off for concussion and missing a few weeks through suspension are the kinds of qualities you want in a $600k + midfielder then Selwood is the one for you. Nothing personal against him but he comes with risk.

Cotchin I believe has more up than Selwood so that's where my money is.

I can't stand them no. And i can't stand the crowd even more, never heard so much booing in my life.

2 things i strongly dislike are ANY SPORTSMAN playing for free kicks

and crowds booing opponents.

and west coast are the biggest culprits of BOTH those things.

I dont think Selwood is as bad as people make out. I just think he goes lower and harder than most so gets a lot of free kicks. He wouldnt get K.O'd so often or go off with a blood rule nearly every game if he was just throwing his head back for free kicks.
Shuey and Hams (as well as others) on the other hand have actually invented a tactic of raising their arms when they are tackled to force the tackle up over their shoulder. Thats whats weak

yes your right Joel Selwood is just a hard at footballer, i have no business faulting his game play, in his case i am more refering to the fact you often see him around packs and when the ball goes out with his arms in the air asking the umpire for a free for his team, not playing for them which is worse but asking for them, which i just think he is a gun and a captain and is better than that.

but maybe his team deserves the free in the first place so he asks ?

who knows i just don't like the look, but i can't fault the player - as long as as someone said above he doesn't knock himself out and get subbed off when he is on my SC team. (if he is ) :)

he has played 24,25,24,20,21 games over the past  5 seasons however so he isn't missing too many games, but i guess it's the ones they do miss that are the only ones that matter!

Cochin has the look of someone about to add 10pts to his average plus is also reliable/consistent

I don't think both will have any/many sub-80 stinkers and therefore won't drop much in price

NO not surprised at his price because he averaged 118 SC points per game for 2012 - That's why I say he can still get better. It wasn't a perfect season for him.

I like Selwood out of the 2, Cotchin might be all hype of improving to the very elite whereas Selwood is there and has been for a few seasons now

Cotchy hands down, his ceiling is about to get higher with a full captains preseason under the sash.

The captaincy will ensure his improvement, he's driven by a fear of failure!

Selwood is a gun, but I agree I think we've seen his best.
