Why is he so unpopular?

Ivan Maric, why am I seeing him in no teams whatsoever after he had a breakout year and averaged 113, is there any reason he is so unpopular?
Absolute gun now, and I have him locked unless there is some unknown reason why no one has him!

Price tag is the only reason i can think of.
Most people electing to go with the cheaper options like Goldy who should have a similar output at a much cheaper starting price

Ziplock

didnt he cop a pre-season injury?

Jroo

I'm considering him too. Is a bit pricey, but if he can continue his form from last season, he's worth it!

The only injury to speak of, would be his groin injury from last year, but he's all fine now

Another reason maybe 99% of teams will have Berger as R2 and Maric shares bye with Berger along with high price.

Looked at him myself and this is one of the few Instances where I took the draw into consideration and his average last year over the teams meeting in the first 7 rounds was below par. (Note have used first game against Carlton not 2nd game)  So looking at him as an upgrade target.

I might be looking at him as an upgrade target if he comes down in price at all, but I think he is just too expensive to start this year, and he I think he might drop 5-10 PPG.

Only had 1 good season.
Carried the ruck by himself now he has Vickery and Orren who may take some TOG from him.

This Goldy is cheap and a perfect fit for SC. Clear #1 ruck at north again he should have a solid season I'll start goldy for SC. not DT tho.

Vickery is a CHF and only provides relief in the ruck when Maric needs a rest. Last year we had to use Griffiths, Mcguanne and even Miller for that role at times.
And Stephenson will be lucky to play 5 games for the season.
Maric will certainly do the bulk of the ruck work again so thats not an issue

It's an issue if it's enough for him to drop 5-10 points per game. Which it is.

Less time on ground/time in the ruck = less opportunity to score. Pretty simple really.

SydneyRox

i guess i am not convinced he will be as good this year?
