This is what i would do  (wont go down well with some people)

Beams,H.mac,Wright and Vlastuin out ..   Murphy/Redden,Goldy,Robinson and Pittard in

I like Beams and H.Mac but i feel you get an overall stronger team doing this

Just a suggestion.. not sure if you will have quite enough cash to do that ?

easily have the cash

although what do you expect from

Pittard, Redden/murphy, Goldy and robinson?

i m thinking
Vlastuin - 60                 fairly much a standard first round rook
Beams - 115 +             same score as last year
Hmac - 85 - 90             has shown he can do it and will be #1 at cats
Wright - 90                  can see an improvement and being conserative

350

Pittard - 60??                i have no idea
Redden - 105+
Goldy   -95 (due to no Hmac)
Robinson 90

350 thats assuming goldy makes an increase, tell me what you think on those scores

they are fair projections but i think Murphy is a better choice than Redden and cheaper even not handling tags very well he averages 110 .. maybe Malthouse will give him the secret  ;D

Pittard barring injury will play all 22 games games and average between 65-75 imo .. was one of the best on ground in their intraclub game the other day

Goldy 80-90 ? who knows maybe stick with H.Mac only another 15k  :)

Robinson was also good in the carlton intra club game having the equal highest possessions and is undervalued this year because of his eye and broken hand injuries last year, i reckon he will go close to 95 more than Wright imo

Chopps

Cheers FF forgot about the injuries to Robinson. maybe i ll take Murph over cotch as he has prior record.
if malthouse unleashes gibbs a bit better might be better for everyone. murph and carrots both had done shoulders didnt they?

You could've just pm'd me :P

Best backline premium set-up you can get (imo)
Strong midfield, despite being sheepish
Wrighty and Zorks good semi-unique fwd premos

Dislikes
Would prefer SJ to Cox. Do you rate the dpp link more than having a 5-7 point average advantage?
Hearing Toumpas' hip is still pretty dodgy. Would prefer Kane Mitchell, 50k less but should average the same and have the same js. Carved it up in the Port intra-club match recently too apparantly.
Ablett won't go 115+ imo. I know for sure I'm not having him, can't deter you sheep though :P

Ratings
Backs: 7.75/10
Mids: 9.75/10 (even though it's sheepy can't deny that you have 4 starters who'll certainly go 115+ and Ablett)
Rucks: 8/10
Forwards: 8/10
Overall: 8.3/10 may want to consider balancing your lines.

yea i could of but this was more fun :D i knew you would say it was sheepish :p

the reason for cox is the cover. stevie j would be an upgrade for me early in the season, i had martin brynes before cox.

ah damn a dodgy hip will have to monitor that

why wont ablett got 115 +, what would i do with all the extra cash?

how would you improve rucks/forwards? apart from cox --->stevie J which weakens the cover to rucks.

I don't think ruck cover will be that much of an issue. Witts (apparantly) had a magnificent intra-club game recently and should play a fair bit.

Ablett will be more like 112 like he did in his first GC season. He won't be able to get 90% of the possession like he did last season with the improvement of Swallow, Bennell, Hunt etc and their new aquisitions, Bluey will want their dependance of Ablett weaned off.

Maybe downgrade Ablett to Fyfe (will only be about a 10 average difference imo) then upgrade Menzel to Siposs?

i heard mcintosh is still injured  :( might wanna pick somebody like mcevoy or sandilands although i heard sandilands is still having a bad time

other than that your team is good, but then again i am not a god so listen to yourself really :) personally i would still keep byrnes

Chopps

yea i heard that too and pulled the pin on the HMAC also doing the same with staker for now unless proven otherwise.

so Byrnes is back in and i am starting to think Sylvia is worth the risk with all these trades. mids is crazy stacked at the moment. but if i down grade any of them the money isnt well spent anyone else in my opinion, at the moment.

new team thoughts appreciated

Nice team Chopps
Similar structure to mine with the 3 back premos and fielding 3 cheapies
Same with the forward line it's nice and unique with no Buddy or Stevie J
Rucks not seeing many teams with Coxy in rucks good rucks
Mids very nice indeed

lolamusi

Wow first off you must be a bl fans with all those ;D

also mcintosh is not back from injury yet, not set to play round 1 :(

i also would buy both ablett and swan at the start as they are obv. going to go down in price whatever they do, and i think that you should choose one then wait for the other to fall in price, pick him up and then you've saved some money which you can spend on upgrading mcintosh to e.g. sandi or mcevoy or something idk

let me know what you think

Chopps

i am a crows & dt fan :D just pick the guys i think will do the best regardless if i do or dont like their afl style. if they are dt good they re in .

whilst i agree swan and ablett will both fall in price there is two issues i see. they both will be in the top 3 (i expect top 2 but who knows )

being a bit of a seasoned Dt'er i have tried this strategy twice before of not starting them and its freaking hard to get them in even at their lowest price. upgrading to an ablett or swan when they are still 600+ is a big upgrade

imo pay the premium for two captain choices and know they will provide week in week out.

Football Factory

Yeah good stuff Chopps, i see you have Osborn aswell  ;D i needed just that little extra cash and that 4th ruck spot copped it ;D

lolamusi

honestly, i don't see what you see in sylvia  :P he has never played a full season, so expect him to fall out sooner or later  :(

i also really like staker but not sure if you feel the same
