Thinking of a Ball / Moloney combo in the mids to go with Ablett, Kennedy, Cothin and Murphy (+ rooks). Will Moloney get back to what he is capable of at his new home?

Or am I just dreaming??????????????????????

Ringo

Not sure whether he will get back to his best.  He was brought to Brisbane to specifically increase their clearance rates one of the worst in the league last year.  With reverting to his crash the packs etc can see him picking up points but whether enough to warrant M5 is the question.

Jroo

Everyone's talking about Ball and Embley as midfield cheapies and have completely forgot about Moloney.
I think he can improve his average at the Lions bak up to at least the 80's. Maybe 85-95.  But just not sure if he's worth paying that extra cash when you can get Ball or Embley  :-\

I think he will av around 90 - 100, possibly as high as 110. Remember last year Brock McLean came into the carlton side and ended up av'ing 106 SC, previous year av was 65. I think he is someone to seriously consider this year (i prefer him to BALL & Embley). If Brock can do it so can Moloney, they are similar types of players.  ;)

Wont avg 110 but I think 100 is a realistic score. Im strongly considering him however he is a fair bit more $$$ than Ball or Embley

I am seriously considering Maloney and will be watching closely to the NAB. He will be wanting to re-ignite his career with atleast 3 good years left in him. Has nice first 5 rounds, look for round 3 against goldcoast to be big and quick step to premium before the Sydney game.

Vincent

He was terrible at Melbourne and he could be just as bad at Brisbane. That's a lot of cash for someone who might not score better than someone like Wines.

MTTY

Beware, if he gets a tag at all then you can expect a very low score. His problem at Melbourne was exactly this and once teams realize how well he can play (especially combining with rucks, reading taps etc.) they will be onto him with a tag.

Without meaning to be offensive to Melbourne's midfield  MTTY - Think Rich, Black, Reddan and Rockliff will get tags before Moloney. Can not afford for these players to run free,

Is a lock for me unless something drastic happens in the NAB to tell me otherwise

Isn't coming back from a severe knee injury - TICK
Isn't over 30yrs old - TICK
Isn't a vest worry - TICK
Can realistically avg 100 - TICK
Is cheap as chips - TICK
Loves a gun ruckman tapping it too him - TICK
Clearance machine - TICK

TICK TICK LOCK!!

No offense taken Ringo, we have one or if not the worst midfield in the comp. However the way Moloney plays is very different to all those brisbane mids listed (more Rocky type than any other) and that i believe will lead to him needing to be tagged by opposition teams with how damaging his gameplay/style can be.

Will be interesting to see how it shakes down as will add another dimension to opposition coaches plan.  Do they tag Moloney and then allow Rich and Black free with their accurate disposals to forward line.

Definitely will, adds variety to the midfield.

He won the b&f 2 years ago then Neeld came in and decided he didnt like him for whatever reason and played him as the sub and dropped him every other week. He will be back to his best at Brisbane.
I am very keen on him but he is just such an awkward price

Agree though Quinny, I'm keen but at an awkward price
