I am thinking of Lake as 4th defender, what do you's think?

Don't know your  current neckline but there are certainly better choices than lake
Gods, Gibbs, Duffy, hartlett, birch, grimes etc

quinny88

Will certainly be a unique pick and I think he will avg around 90.
If you're happy with that then go for it, not enough upside for me though

Jay

No thanks. See him playing more of a lock-down role

SydneyRox

too much risk, could go downninjured again and there are massive questions about his role, because the hawks have always used gibson as the loose third up defender, which is the role lake played at the dogs

He has always played a lock down role... it has never suppressed his scoring. He is the master of the contested mark from opposition's kick and will get plenty of freebies in a hawks side that like to switch and possess/ over-possess the footy. I think he has upside, how much? who knows.
Will he be top 6? probably not.
But not the worst choice... will have plenty of footy coming at him in the first part of the year with the tough draw.
Interesting one. Not in my side at the moment, but under consideration. Again.

i almost have him locked for SC, if Chaplin is fit round 1 then he gets lakes spot but word is he won't be so i'll start lake.

Lake as a key defender is fine for SC, add to that all the cheap possessions he will get in the hawks backline and how can he fail?

probably be a good pick for DT too, but i won't risk him there as he will be playing a kpp role.

Hagebear

Just too much of a risk to start him for me. Going to wait and see how he starts the year, so an upgrade target for me.

dmac07

Too many unanswered questions to be a starter. New club, new role? Age. Over 400k. Not a lot of upside to me.

T Dog

There is always the chipping around in the Hawks backline that made him famous at the Bullies to consider. May just be some DT/SC gold waiting to be picked up  8)

Good point but I just feel that at Bullies he had another lock-down defender in the backs, was mostly Dale Morris. Here he is the lock-down man where his job will be to play on the best forward each week... Just too many unanswered question for my liking

he will get a lot of help down there tho with the 3rd man up and the elite company he will be in i can see him getting to spoil more instead of having to mark everything due to the fact he was the last and only line of defence at the dogs.

butit's when the hawks switch and go backwards he will really rack up the points ( more DT points) but as a key defender he could be scoring well in SC doing his thing at FB and just add some cream through the hawks antics kicking around he backline switching and setting up.

yeah good call Colli. I just dont think his price tag is worth it. Good luck to those who take the punt on him! Hope it pays off for you :)

Btw Colli, would prefer to start Lake over Chaplin...

For SC Chaplin is a LOCK if 100% fit for round 1. first picked. but it doesn't look like he will be?

Chaplin over Lake definitely. might be an upgrade tho see how he pulls up.
