team update:

Back line: B.Goddard, B.Gibbs, D.Heppell,  S.Atley, R.Tamblimg, J.Pittard
Reserves: (D.Terlich, B.Goodes)

Mid: D.Swan, J.P.Kennedy, T.Cotchin, M.Murphy,B.Moloney, J.O'meara, B.Crouch, J.Viney
Reserves: (K.Mitchell,  D.Towers)

Rucks: S.Jacobs, M. Luenberger
Reserves: (D.Currie, S.Rowe)

Forwards: T.Rockliff, D.Cox, M.Wright,  M.De Boer, A.Siposs, A.Monfries
Reserves: (J.Neade, B.Maccafer)

# backline- went with three prem structure with two uniques in Atley and tambling. Chose tambling cause of his performance lately and also of the fact the Brodie smith is out injured tambling will get more game time. Meaning more points and quick upgrade later on to prem if needed.

Midfield - took ablett out as I can see him dropping in price and other team members taking some of the scores away. For that price I thought not much different with him and swan. Went four prem mid here with a unique in Moloney as I believe Moloney is a good pod. Swapped jack for Kennedy so points in my favour and instead of pendles went Trent.

Ruck- dropped Goldstein and put Jacobs in there believe he can only improve better this year. Only problem with him is he lacks goal kicking ability but all in all pretty good ruck with uniqueness as well.

Forward line- got two uniqueness in here wrh the likes of Siposs and Monfries believe Monfries playing more Mids this yeAr will average 85-90 + and is hundred grand cheaper then Cloke he could go up and down all year. Siposs gotta love that player and that's it in nutshell.

I've believe I got good strong structure in place on all lines. Tell me what you think. Rate or hate. Any feedback welcome good or bad. Thank you.

Def - 3 guns to miss round 13. Can you spread the bye thing a bit? Hanley, Grimes etc might help and save either a trade or some points later.

Gambling on Tambling? Hmmm, not sure but he is cheap.

Mids - Ablett is value. Murphy too. Good choices but I don't think Moloney is good value, nor is he that unique at the moment.

Rucks - love them. So leave them as they are.

Fwds - weak here. Risky picks with potential to lose ground on those with Buddy, Walker, Cats x3, and even the other DPP rucks. I would not be comfortable with this forward line.

Good luck and on he DocTor rating system you score a respectable but not spectacular 7.7/10.

I believe you can't win the money without throwing some risks in your team. I've looked at everyone else's and there pretty much carbon copy to each other. I think if my pod  breakout ill be in the chance to win. Problem I had last year was I played the like a sheep, playing safe and taking no risks. This year playing different taking risks going outside the boundary and with more trades this year can afford to take risks.

i was mucking about a few nights back and i came up with this risky team. similar to yours.

Brendon Goddard, Bryce Gibbs, Shaun Atley, Chris Yarran, Jordan Russell, Brett Goodes
Sam Docherty, Dean Terlich

Gary Ablett jnr, Dane Swan, Scott Pendlebury, Trent Cotchin, Andrew Embley, Kane Mitchell, Brad Crouch, Jaeger O'Meara
Dean Towers, Jack Viney

Shane Mumford, Matthew Leuenberger
Sam Rowe, Daniel Currie

Dean Cox, Dayne Zorko, Tom Rockliff, Matthew Wright, Angus Monfries, Shannon Byrnes
Joe Daniher, Brent Macaffer

Looks good mate. No risks no rewards. Can't win Gavin a carbon copy of everyone else's this year. Why stands out is the uniques like my team.

Keeper27

im not actually using that team though... yes i have a carbon copy team. i dont care. its solid enough.

im actually trying to fit monfries into my team.
i know i sound silly but i really do think he can easily go 90+ at port.

nightwalker_1310au

Yeah he playing different role spending more time in mids this year. Worth the punt I think.

Noddy5

Forward line looks a little weak... I would consider downgrading Hannabery or Jack and upgrading knights. Ruck is very strong.

nightwalker_1310au

Yeah but think I'm already settled on my side, happy with the team structure in place no Ablett and no Franklin. Creating more salary cap to fit across each line evenly. Mid priced uniques pod in each line, some wit one and some with 2. Overall I have a strong team.

tbagrocks

Tambling is really hard to judge, I still doubt he will be in round one

Liking the forward line and Monfries will be important for Port, still risky going only two rooks though, at the expense of a weeker midfield

just watch for him mate he injured himself, done his hammy. hope it isnt too bad

Sainters1985

Nice team there

Defense looks good, like me I'm taking a risk with Tambling
Mids I think this is a little weak with no abs even if he comes down in price a little his captain scores for the first 3-4 weeks could set you behind. Also without him you probably need another elite midfielder in at m5.
Rucks- solid
Forwards- lots of pod's they could go either way and I guess you have to go with your gut.
Overall nice team a little risky. 8/10

Regarding uniques, pod's, cookie cutters etc - key to winning is jumping on and off at the right time.

Trade preservation less important this year - same for byes - and prob DPP as well.

Lady Luck has a fair say too.

Good arguments and nice team.

It's not a bad team at all. With your uniques; you can't be 'so and so' about them. you'd have to be pretty much 100% that they will pay off - Moloney, Tambling, M.Wright,  M.De Boer, A.Siposs, A.Monfries. In essence, they aren't bad picks, but too much reliance on players like this opens up the risk of even more points lost behind those who went premium-rookie. I believe adding in a few uniques will put you up against those standard players, but an overdose of these may have an opposite effect. I'd probably reccomend Wright and Siposs to Walker and Daniher.
