First draft this year. Obviously rooks not locked yet. Not sure on Bock yet, could downgrade to another rookie, upgrade Yarren, or throw the cash into the fwds? Or bring Ball into mids?
Also tossing up Breust to Zorko, but that leaves me with 3 Lions in the Fwds. Pav is also in the mix, if fit and firing come seasons start.
Mundy will become Fyfe if hes not 100%
$68,200 left in the kitty.

As always, all comments most appreciated and will cheer if thats what turns you on! ;D

Ringo

Solid team

Def: Very solid - maybe down grade Bock to a rookie will be underdone.
Mids: Sound
Rucks; No issues here
Fwds: Nice POD with Breust

On your suggestions Breust to Zorko will be Ok as chances are Staker will have been upgraded if not a keeper. Do not worry about the 3 lions as they are the only ones with Round 11 bye on the line.

Would look at bringing Embley or Ball in -  if downgrading bock for a mid - data on both in players thread.  If upgrading back get a prem Birchill or Duffield or similar.

Rate Team as it stands 7.5/10  Good luck

Bock is your worst pick I reckon. In nowhere land. Don't need to spend that much on D5 as he'll be unlikely to be a keeper and a well selected rookie can make you the same money, earn similar points and allow spending elsewhere.

Mundy not in a lot of teams and I can't see why not so go with your instinct and he'll be a good POD.

I think your first 2 rucks are both a bit fragile if history is any guide. Maybe a rock solid like Jacobs / Goldy / McEvoy / Ryder would be safer. Also Ryder to Cox in mids might be useful if needed. Also lets you offload Rowe who may struggle for JS.

Breust is a slippery, possession getting goal scorer who could be a great pick up.

I worry about SJ as he seems to be getting a bit slow - in my opinion for those who beg to differ!

Official DocTor rating = 8.2/10 - just dump Bock.

Ringo

Agree with the doctor on SJ would look at other alternatives at that price - Number available.

Thanks for the replies fellas! Yeah, Bock has to go. As far as rucks go, Tor1, I like your theory re: Ryder/Cox, especially when Nicnat comes in at a value price, but I think Sandi is worth the risk with the extra trades and new ruck rules this year and will go Boom!!!

Was so close to Martin over Stevie J, but still talking myself into it, after having him from the start last year. :-\  Maybe SJ to Zorko? He could be a great unique im thinking. As i said, if Pavs firing hes a lock, he will have a huge year i think.

barnsey70

backs- good 7/10
mid- ok 6/10
ruc- ok 5/10
fwd- good 7/10

more stars are needed !!
do some research

Well Barnsey............if you can find a way around the salary cap for me i'll have all the stars i need! ::) I'm assuming you mean mids (Swan, JPK, etc) or fwds. I'm staying away from Lance and Nicnat as starters  this year, will get them in due course. Other than those players, your 'stars' come down to personal opinion. 5/10 for rucks? Really? Not keen on Leuy at that price? Explained my thoughts on Sandi already.

And research is exactly what I'm doing!  ;) Not exactly sure what you mean? You didnt give me any other options to think about, but thats cool, dont expect everything on a platter. Cheers for you anyway.

Bit harsh barnsey, i like the idea of yarran/ bock into a back premium and a rookie, but both could work well.
In the same boat with forwards but id stick with bruest, will play every game and hopefully produces some of his end of year form.
no other real criticisms, nice team

Thanks for the reply dano, Wouldnt minding squeezing Shaw into my backs, most seem wary of him and could be a great POD i think.

tor01doc

I think Barnsey will be seeing 'more stars' if he keeps this up!

dano_monaz

hahaha dw he wrote the same thing on my post (ps check it out)  ;)

Very unconstructive comment from barnsy. Think ur team looks great. Standard 3 prem back line. Yarran a worthy risk if he fits ur structure. Agree with everyone that bock is gonna struggle so downgrade there. Midfield pretty standard. If mundys injury is serious u can just change to Fyfe. Murphy lack of pre-season a concern but definedly undervalued. Love the Sandilands pick. Worth the risk. If he plays 20 odd games he will b top 2 rux. Cox and rocky in the forwards explain themselves. Sj a risk watch in nab to see if in the mids. Breaust a beautiful pick. Maybe downgrade SJ for Martin to make some cash and upgrade a forward rookie for varcoe or someone... Surprised u haven't had better feed back on ur team I can't see many issues.

Toying with a couple of options. Traded SJ to Zorko. Also Bock to Van Unen, giving me $237,800 to play with. I wanted to bring in Broughton for Yarran to give me DPP with Staker and upgrade a fwd rook to Varcoe, or  a mid rook to Ball/Embley,l but i fall just short of cash ( isnt it always the way?).
So should i upgrade Yarran to Broughton for DPP, or forget DPP and get the Duffman? Or keep Yarran as my R4 and get a Ball/Embley/Varcoe? If i put Varcoe in the mids it would give me a mid/fwd link with Zorko and Rocky, but is he 'midworthy'?

Another option is keep SJ, get Broughton and swap a mid rookie for Embley or Varcoe (still cant afford Ball).

Any ideas?

Please rate my latest draft. Made a few changes along the way, with Sandi going down :( along with Staker. Got rid of Bock and upgraded Yarren for Broughton.

Also brought in Goldy and upgraded SJ to Buddy. Still unsure on this one though, as I'm definately not sold on Goldy, but who else is there? Thinking maybe downgrade Buddy and chuck Roughy in the rucks? Jacobs? The number one ruck spot is doing my head in atm  :-\
$14,800 left in the kitty.
Cheers for any replies, and will give your teams a look as well, although I'm certainly no expert!
