Which one and why

Murphy v Jack head to head

Marc Murphy is simply a superstar imo, he's one of the best in the comp, I can't say that about Jack as good as Jack has been

I personally don't see Jack challenging the 120 of the new bolters Beams, Cotchin, Dangerfield, Kennedy ect but I see Murphy going close and, if as many expect Carlton to be a top 4 contender then Murphy's ave will rise probably over 120

TheAnt

It's much more likely Carlton will be fighting for 7th/8th spot. I would personally go for Jack, he ticks every box in the big SuperCoach scoring and should improve more. In saying that Murphy is also a gun and should score similar. Probably comes down to personal preference.

Murphy comfortably for mine.
The prime mover in Carlton midfield.
I look at it like: I expect Murphy to consistently get 110-120 but Jack can be all over the map. Can't see him with anywhere near the same average.

GM

Murphy has got the runs on the board in his favour.
Jack has the good initial draw.
But i would get Kennedy in if i was picking by the draw.
So Murphy as a keeper.

Nige

I like Jack more, and he's probably a better choice if you're looking to go unique. But Murphy's also good value and should get back to his best.

Jay

I prefer Jack too. Had a ripper second half of 2012 and with his easy draw he could better that in 2013 - could average 120...

SydneyRox

it makes it hard to call without seeing the rest of your mids, both guys should be in yout team.
heads up, i would also call Jack. plenty of upside still for him

Murphy - classier except vs St Kilda.

Some have a ? over Murphy's ability to handle a tag.  IMO he's fine 70% of the time.

If he plays 21+ games he should be in the top 8 for total score...tough start to the season though.

Hagebear

I think Murphy still has plenty of upside. Probably now coming into his footy prime, another preseason under his belt to build up his tank to break tags. Even though Judd is getting on I think he will cop the tag 'most' of the time as he's just a freak and can win a game of footy in 15 minutes. Jack still a bit unproven for my liking.

Jack proved himself to the footy world last yea that he is now a gun of the game! His 2nd half of the year was great, no reason why he cant continue that for 2013. Think Murph is more 'unproven'

5 year, 3 year and 2012 averages

Jack    84   99  112
Murph 111 114 113.

Proof or no proof - that is the question.
