This is an interesting topic i think. So many teams have a mid priced midfielder but i think it will be interesting to put a poll up to see who is the best selection for your supercoach team this season.

Moloney -new lease on life. Not picking him though. Or any of the others ATM.

Ball is not this years Hayes. He may score well again, but last year St. Kilda had only 2 other midfielders to get points off Lenny. Collingwood has 10.

FOOTY IS BACK

At this stage I would have to go Embley! Ball would be 2nd choice.

ball for me, have said it elsewhere, embley is mutton, nab might show that if he gets a run, otherwise you will be downgrading him to a rookie round 3or4

Totally a gut hunch Josh Caddy. Anybody that accidentally decks their captain has got to be keen , fortunately I know exactly what I mean. Cheers.

+1 - he's 31, lame and hasn't averaged over 100 since 95'. Just a player.

Currently, I've gone with both Ball and Embley.

You've gotta understand that these types of players are not there as keepers in our midfields. We put them in to make us some cash quickly for upgrades. They are cheap as chips and usually consistent scorers. They start at a higher price than rookies but their scoring ceiling is that much higher than rookies. 3 or 4 90 point games in a row, and these players will make you some good cash. Also, when they do peak, usually it's at a higher price than rookies, thus providing you even more cash when you downgrade them to a rookie who makes their debut mid/late season and is worthwhile keeping. Or, the other direction is they are usually easier to upgrade to a super premium, because they are not as far behind in price than rookies who have peaked.

I had Embley 2 seasons back and he was a star, until he got injured real late in the season. He's just had his best pre-season and achieved PB's in the time trials on the track. Look for him to jump out of the blocks early. Will he get the vest?? Probably a few times, but as I said before, he wil be in my team to make me some easy cash, not as a keeper.

Ball is an out and out star! An in and under midfielder who loves the hard stuff. And don't forget, the best tackler in the competition, which gives us a few extra supercoach points in the bag.

freddo makes some good points.

Do we have room for more than one 'sale' item per line though?

Thinking of LeCras / Kennedy / Sylvia / Knights / Bock / Yarran as other examples

Parker's an interesting one...
Fractured his jaw RD1 and was subbed. Was expected to miss 2-3 weeks and then came up the very next week for Freo but only scored 54. He then averaged 101 over then next 4 games with scores of 108, 121, 83, 94. Then in round 7 he received a cork to the knee and was subbed out for 50. The next week he pumped out a 100. He had a quiet game the following week and then had his collarbone pinned after breaking it in RD10, missed up until RD18.
Was a tough year to gauge with so many unlucky injuries... Broken jaw, then a cork, then a collarbone. Outside that his numbers are very impressive.

An interesting option you raise ricochet. Can actually put him in instead of Embley with a slight tweak on the bench cover. Just what I need another option..lol.. ;D
