the issue with gaff is that from memory he doesnt put up great scores against his first couple of opponents. Siposs is decent enough to start with, I just cant fit him in atm though :/

Scrads

Hanley + Rookie OR Suban + Pederson

and

Murphy + Rookie OR D.Swallow + Embley

Hanley (86) + Rookie (65) OR Suban (75) + Pederson (75)

and

Murphy (110) + Rookie (70) OR D.Swallow (90) + Embley (90)

Even though I'm not a fan of Hanley, I'd still go Hanley + Rookie for the first one.

The second one is even, but I'd feel safer with Murph and a rook.

Cheers, I have gone Hanley + Rookie and Swallow + Embley atm.

I like having only 2 on-field mid rookies for some reason.

Eh, advice is advice ;)

Atm my team is 12 - 6 - 12 and has only 4 rookie priced players on the field (who atm are Pittard, Docherty, Wines and K.Mitchell).

I hate mid priced teams. I have 0 mid pricers. Gun n Rooks are ALWAYS more successful

agree with you in part here, however having the odd one or two doesnt hurt.

e.g. Burger, Ambley, Byrnes this year.

guys like waters last year were fantastic pick ups.

Scrads

D.Swallow, Embley, Leuy, Knights, Varcoe, Byrnes are my 6 midpricers.

Justin Bieber

I don't count Leuy as a rook. Ok I have one if you count Leuy.

I pick under priced players

E.g Murphy, Pendles, Hartlett, Hanley, Martin, Rockliff, Robinson, Redden, Goldstein etc

In saying that I don't have all of those players in my current side, but have been in and out at times

Scrads

I am banking on these mid-pricers being able to get me the premiums I want when I want them, rather than when the rookies let me. Also think bunny-hopping may be popular to get some cash so will definitely be prepared to hop on someone on a hot streak for a quick buck.

Hey Zip. Not sure if this has been asked. Mummy v Goldy for R1? Ta

stahhhp it.

I  have hanley a little higher, and as I've said, Murphy does feel safer guarenteeing you a premium. That being said, if Swallow breaks out you're up significantly for less cash :P

not true...

with the extra trades, this is even less true... but midpricers are definitely viable in dt... if you didnt start with danger/ sidey you were wayyy behind last year. If you started maric you were way infront, if you started waters/ johnson you had a huge edge in the backline, or watson/ cotchin/ tuck in the mids, ryder/ hmac were other solid ruck picks as midpricers, as was whitecross, walker and wright.

the trick is to pick the right mid pricers...

with the exception of pendles and rockliff, all those players are midpricers- they're not premium. Just because they've had premium scores before doesn't stop them from being midpriced. The difference is, that they're not nearly as unique as lets say, punting on someone like dylan shiel this year: yeah, if players like that flop, it's going to hurt you more than if gibbs flops, but if they explode it's going to benefit you more.

ftr, you're better off having your midpricers 'under' perform to start off with- like lets say shiel ends up having a 110 average for the year... you're better off having him average lets say 90 over the opening 5 rounds and then come home strong, since less people will jump on him while he's cheap.
