Aaaaaaand I've got a couple of pearlers for you mate!

Ablett 120 + Boyd 115 + Ball 90 + 61.6k= 325
vs
Redden 108 + Murphy 110 + Greene 103 + 92.1k 321

I can afford any fwd or ruckmen (depending on where I put Coxy.) I already have Cox, Zorko, Rocky, Robbo as premiums in ruck/fwd. Who should I go in this last spot? McEvoy? Roughy? Chappy? Nroo? Gah, options...

Thanks mate

Cheers dude 8)
for your first option, they're pretty even. That being said, boyd and ablett are pretty much certainly premiums, and at balls price he's going to make you a large chunk of cash as well. Compared to redden + murphy who are more touch and go as top mids, and greene, who should improve (but not by much).

Option 2: Giles.
Just couldn't think of anyone

so, giles R1 :P

Yeah cheers dude.

Was thinking option one though because it is so much value.

Marc - Almost certain to increase in value early (priced @ ave 101)

Redden - Should improve his output, especially with his early fixture (priced @ ave 103)

Greene - The man, the legend. Gotta lift on that ave from his debut year! (Priced @ 97 ave)

If these blokes aren't pumping out tons then I can just drop them for a rookie/elite premo.

More questions than answer now I think :P

Giles, really? Surely better options!?

What do you think Giles will average?

Is Smith a good gamble at 300k?

yeah, I gave Le pretty poor advice in hind sight, I can see giles going up to 88... but probably not much higher :/

smith I can see going high 70s, could be a valuable pick.

Boyd + Watts. Imo both of these will outscore their counterparts- but more importantly, you get a genuine premium in boyd, rather than just punting on two quasi premiums.

Grimes + A. Swallow + Murphy + Gaff + McEvoy + Wright + Macaffer
vs
DEF Rook (65) + Boyd + Ablett  + Whitfield + Maric + Cox + Robbo

haha, literally picking 1/3 of your team there :P

grimes   95
swallow   108
murphy   110
gaff   100
mcevoy   94
wright   80
macaffer   68
   655

rookie   65
boyd   115
ablett   121
whitfield   78
maric   96
cox   103
robbo   101
   679

pretty easy choice imo. Better cash generation from two rookies as well.

when you go midpricers, you really have to nail your team composition.

like, getting a player who averages 70-80 and breaks out to 100+ is great, they're cheap and you get a great score.

at the same time though, you have rookies who are essentially priced at 20ppg average, and who could average 80, so it ends up being more bang for your buck in some occasions, like this when you're looking at huge combos, to go a bit more conventional.

Grimes/Stanley (D4) + Whitfield (M5)

vs

Docherty (D8) + Dangerfield (M5)

Just the classic toss-up - do I put in an extra mid leaving my backline a bit weak, or do I put in the decent-scoring Whitfield and top-5 defender? ???

Thanks Zip! :D

I reckon rocky, buddy and cox will be top 3 :P
That's my current f1,2 & 3 then Martin and hopefully I can go Knights -> Stevie J and Maccaffer -> to hopefully another premo (hopefully Robinson)
