No hiccups so far this pre-season (well i haven't heard of any), as usual with Rioli if he plays more time in the midfield then pick him and expect big scores, while if he plays forward for the majority you'll be relying on accuracy from his low amount of disposals.

For me at this stage its a no, until i see his NAB role

colmullet

what role do u see stevie J playing this year, still running through the middle a lot like last year or more up forward to give the young up n coming guys more responsibility in the middle?

Majority midfield again for me this year. Probably a little more outside than inside though (With the arrival of Caddy and the rise of Horlin-Smith), although Chapman has been said to be playing more midfield time again in 2013 so this could spell more time once again as a half forward/ forward pocket.

MTTY What do you reckon about Duff v Grimes for D3. ATM I have Yarran D4.

Really like both as options, I have Grimes as D3 and Duff/Watts/Pearce at D4.

Out of the two, has to be Grimes for me. Grimes has been training purely as a mid this preseason. So expect him to score 100+ this year and play there completely.

2 Q's MTTY:
- Yarran V Atley for D4
- Will Roughead's scoring/role be affected if Max Bailey comes back into the side?

1. Yarran for me, he is very underpriced for how he can score. Atley still an unproven quantity. (Watch NAB for his role incase Mick sends him back to the forward line.)

2. Yes i believe it will, but in saying that i don't think Bailey will come in while Hale and Roughead are both fit. If he does than Roughead will be playing forward and competing with the likes of Gunston, Buddy, Hale and Bruest (At times), possibly even Cyril for both possessions and goals.

Good work MTTY here.

Do you think Grimes playing purely as a mid will help him avoid injury? Nice to get the training update as latest report I had was that he was still on a modified program.

2nd question thoughts on Hawkins as a KPP forward this year for SC,

Hi MTTY

What about Chris Yarran as a D4. Can you see his scores improving this year

2nd question thoughts on Hawkins as a KPP forward this year for SC,

1. With his luck who knows, could get a lot more concussions. But it could mean that they have the confidence in his soft tissues injuries now to play him as a fulltime onballer. (by the way, if you're after top training reports from Melbourne head over to Demonland, a melbourne fc forum)

2. Funny you should mention him, i've been looking at him as a POD KF since last seasons end. I think he could be one of few KPP to actually score in the top few from an SC perspective. I'd back him in as a unique.

As a D4, i'd probably say pass but as a D5 i'd say get on him. Has the potential and disposal to score highly. Just make sure to watch his role in Nab in case Mick plays him as a forward once again.

Ricochet

Very nice MTTY. Can Dan Nicholson improve enough to be relevant this year? Have been hearing great things this preseason

He's been in the top 2 for endurance (along with Tom McDonald), the whole pre-season. His job security will be too shakey for my liking though, especially with his questionable disposal. Could very well make round 1 but i see Terlich and Watts ahead of him as running backs/distributors and even James Strauss.

Is Luke Ball worth it at M5 or is it better to chance it with a rookie instead?
