alright so this is my first attempt at a team this year, and at the moment i wasn't sure which team looked better, i think the second team probably looks better but only have 900 bucks left

anyways please rate my team fellas! no doubt i'll change my team a hundred times before the season starts, and alot of the rookies depend on NAB cup and all that, but thought i'd see how far off i was

cheers

Colliwobblers

pretty good looking team both.

stanton (shivers)

ive never picked him but if i had for the first part of 2012 i would have been happy !!!!  if i didnt get off in time tho i would have been NOT  HAPPY !!!!!

hard call to make on him, the entire team (except watson) went severely and rapidly down hill last season so he is a gamble but probably if they sort their conditioning out not as big a one as most people think, and he is a SLUT in DT nobody can deny his huge ceiling.

That said Watson is one of the safest elite mids you can pick.

I prefer staker to pittart if fit he has more proven scoring ability and is DPP

i dont expect many to risk it like i will but in DT i feel Beams has alread gone past pendles. Not in SC even tho e outscored him you still have to back pendles there but in DT i think Beams will just get better again this season.

first 4 defenders are rock solid. Heppell and Goddard basically midfielders as is Gibbs and Birchall will benefit from lake and is the key link man in the hawks backline.

i wnet ball over embley just because he is a lock in the best 22 and he is so tough he should come back from the injury with no issues ( crosses fingers)

sjohnson started 2012 like a DOG, everyone wrote him off and not many got on even after his first couple of tons it was such a bad start, i won't pick him in 2013 for that reason and again with the trade rules we now have it is a lot easier to get on if he goes bang right from the start.

i'm starting zorko but any youngish keen as fwd mid type would be a safer round 1 prospect i feel than johnson, not to say he won't or houldnt end up in most teams at some point through the season.

rocky is a no brainer and robbo or martin are both solid, martin needs to go to the next level, robbo needs to stop punching on at music festivals

broughton is in most defences why not put him in your fwd line :) nice POD. (point of difference).

MacAffer is a lock if fit, varcoe byrnes, nicoski are others to consider if you love your mid pricers.

just do one thing WATCH and READ during the NAB CUP and you will be fine :)

good luck for 2013

T Dog

Nice effort Brad. Perhaps Broughton to Varcoe, then use the cash to upgrade a mid rookie. 5 mid rooks may be a risk to get them on the park.

SydneyRox

Prefer team 2 myself.

Like Tdog suggestion of Varcoe, would also look to move Watson who I dont have as much love for in DT than SC.

But that is personal choice, so if you love him, stick with him.

thanks for the replies fellas!

great analysis Colli, thanks mate! yeah i'm not 100% sold on Stanton either, and i'm not really sure if my balls will be big enough to have in my side round 1, but i thought i'd see how he looks in there. Beams for me just costs too much at the start if i choose to have Swan (and Ablett maybe), no doubt he will be in my team at the end of the year though

thanks for the replies also T Dog and SydneyRox, i took your advice and went Broughts to Varcoe, and then i couldnt help but play a little more with my team lol so here is the new one.... (once again this will almost definitely not be my round 1 team, mostly messing around at this stage)

Goddard, Gibbs, Birchall, Heppell, Stevenson, Docherty   (Colquhoun, Terlich)

Swan, Ablett, Cotchin, Redden, Ball, Embley, Crouch, O'Meara   (Hrovat, Viney)

Goldstein, Leuenberger   (Daw, McBean)

Cox, Rockliff, Robinson, D.Martin, Varcoe, Staker   (Macaffer, Lee)

$11,400 remaining

how is that one looking? there's only really 4 rookies starting on the field which doesn't look too bad

thanks again guys!

Jukes

Fwark sorry braddles for not getting around to your team quick enough :X

Likes
Good structure
Great backline, you have the 4 of the best 5 premos (imo) and the 4 best rooks (imo)
Strong midfield

Dislikes
Would prefer SJ to Cox and Byrnes to Varcoe
Uncertain on Hrovat, at this stage I'd prefer Matty Jones

haha thats alright Jukesy i only made it a couple of days ago :P

thanks for the assessment mate, to be completely honest i'd forgotten about Byrnes, surely he'll play all games and should be a great option. i had Jones in there but switched to Hrovat, i've got Jones back in there now but like i said alot depends on the NAB and how they go.

SJ and Cox will be close, Cox will be handy though if Leuey gets rested/dropped or whatever and i can switch Cox into the ruck, plus with NicNat out he could tear games apart... he is getting old though and i think someone on here said he broke his finger or something so i'm not sure.. will wait and see how he goes

thanks again fellas!
