I reckon Jack would be a very good POD. But I'd probably rather JPK than him  :-\
Hard to split them two, but Jack is worht his 600k price tag, as at worst he's average will stay around the same and could even I,prove slightly  :o

Mykonos FC

I'd rather Ryan O'Keefe.
Did average 120 in his last 18 games of 2012 and is 50k cheaper than Jack and is only owned by 1.0% of SC'ers!

from round 8 onwards he averaged 123. Enough said. He's a jet.

^ This is where i get excited, but is he well and truly his own mid now or will he be a tagger in patches ?

I had him last year expecting him to break out. It was frustrating early when they used him in tagging jobs (Freo game is the one that sticks out, kept Hill out of the game but hurt his scoring) but in the Melbourne game they let him loose and he dominated. It helped vindicate the selection and this year I have him again.

His tagging days are over, a player of his quality won't be wasted trying to stop others.

Agree. At worst he will stand next to someone and make them accountable, no more hard tags

AFL clubs are copycats and you can bet that every team will have studied how the Swans play. The former tagger might find himself being tagged at times. JPK is almost unstoppable so maybe Jack is the guy who they'll try to shut down.

Tabs says: Had an absolute gun year with 14 SC scores above 100 with 5 of them 140+. Apart form the GWS game he started the year slowly with only 1 more 100+ point games in his first 7 games. I think he will do the same next year although with GWS and GC the first 2 games it would be hard not to select him in your SC team at the start. Could be a good premium in your mids with a round 12 bye, not too many around.

2013 DT average: 100-110

Did Bird take over the main tagging role at the Swans?

Nick Smith is a lock down defender and they could use him in that role as well, but it is creating another weakness.

I think if a player is really carving the Swans up they might use Jack back in that role if say the other two options don't work, but they will want him to continue to punish teams with goals and him penetrating the ball inside 50. He does his damage forward of center.

JPK, Jack is risky

anyone concerned he may be used as a stopper again in stages of 2013.. swallow rd 3, jelwood rd 4 etc etc...?

i want him in but this has me unsure

To be honest i think our midfield is good enough to the point that Jack will become the hunted rather than the hunter. Will probably be used in a head to head role where he can run off his opponent. Don't think we'll see too much negating from him like in previous years. But for me Kennedy will probably end up with the highest average again as far as Swans mids go. No shame in going with Jack if you want a strong POD to seperate you from the others.

mabo

Too risky for me, scored sub 100's in 8 of his 22 games last year in Supercoach (<100 in 13 of 22 in Dreamteam) and all 3 of his games in the Finals .

Huge standard deviation, has a very high ceiling though which inflates his average.

Correct on all 3 there Matty. But Dan Han or Parker may be used instead of Jack on occasions
