Use a slightly different model to most, has served me well in the past.

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Grimes, Heppell, Hartlett, Vlastuin (Goodes, Pittard)
Mid: Cotchin, Pendlebury, Murphy, Whitfield, Toumpas, Wines, Crouch, O'Meara (Barry, Viney)
Ruck: Goldstein, Leuenberger (Daw, Grundy)
Fwd: Franklin, Johnson, Rockliff, Martin, Rioli, LeCras (Staker, Lee)

Haven't really got my head around the kids yet, so will probably bring in some cheaper options and add an extra mid premo.

Nice looking team, the strategy of going in with stacked backs and forwads with less premium mids may pay off. How much cash do you have spare ?

The only selections that I am not a fan of is Rioli and LeCras. I don't think either will be top of the range premiums nor do I think that they will rise enough in value to be cash cows. I think you would be better served going with a pure premium (Pavlich, Robinson etc) and a cheaper midpricer (Knights, Byrnes, Varcoe) who is likely to make you more cash.

Also don't think Toumpas will have a big average it might be worth going someone cheaper like Lonergan or Kane Mitchell.

it's pretty good but i'd downgrade lecras to Varcoe then get Ball/Embley for Toumpas

A few did a similar thing with the mids last year getting all rookies and to say the least it never really paid off too well.  :-\

If your going down that path you NEED Swan or GAJ surely.  :o

I like it, but I'd get one less premium in defence (maybe ditch Grimes) and one more in the mdis  :)

No Swan or GAJ?  That could put you behind the 8-Ball early on if both smash it.  Can you really risk it?  Up to you really, but you gotta have at least one imo.

got the same strategy mate i rekkn itll be the go this year. making $$ will b more important than trades this year given the increase in trades. pick the right mid rooks and your set, might hurt overall ranking at the start of the year but if your goin for league you cant go wrong. but i agree gotta get one of swan/ablett in ya team goin with that strategy

No Swan or GAJ will kill you. Also having 3 premos in the mids is very risky
