He only costs $291,100.
Surely he is going to play every week and at least be a cash cow

I wouldn't be so sure that he'll play every week. He is an old man now, and there is a lot of competition in the small to medium forwards at Collingwood (Krak, Fasolo, Goldsack, Blair, Daisy, Macaffer, Dwyer, Didak, Sinclair, Kennedy). 2 bad games in a row would see him lose his spot and you don't want to pay that much money for someone who doesn't have rock solid job security. Byrnes or JJK would be a much better choice.

I'm not suggesting get him in SC but if we're talking about ONE spot, he's a fair way ahead of most of those you named.

Maybe a bit to expensive for a Cash Cow. I would look at Byrnes mate, or even Varcoe at around that price
