Thanks for the input guys...you're all champs :)
Now...a few more q's before i post team 3 :P (which will have a lot of your suggestions I think :P ) and this one will be a pic :P

Would you look at:
JPK over Watson?
Sellwood over Danger?
Swan for any of those or should I wait on him? and how about Murphy? will he be able to break the tag every week?
and if Murphy's a go...how about Fyfe? can he be labelled an legitimate under-priced prem who could be used to save some cash early and pump out similar scores to a Murph, Sellwood, etc.???
and lastly...Birchall or Grimes?

So...in summary...using my current mid's and those questions...maybe come up with an "ideal" midfield with the rookies I have now (Wines, O'Meara, Viney, K. Mitchell, Crouch) and i'll pick one I like OR meld them :P

Cheers guys!

Ringo

My opinion only

JPK over Watson
Danger/Selwood virtually line ball but if pressed would probably go Selwood more a proven scorer than Danger
Would go Swan over Danger/Selwood or Murphy.
If selecting would go Swan and Selwood but my opinion.
I am one of the few not on the Fyfe band wagon as I do not think he will finish in top 10 mids this year, (my opinion)
Definitely Birchill over Grimes (Grimes is yet to play all games in a season)

t.thomas6

Cheers Ringo :)

So in saying that (going with those comments and my initial mids)...you're ideal midfield would be?... :P

Ringo

How about Ablett, Pendles, Swan, JPK, Selwood if going the 5 prem strategy but just my opinion.

t.thomas6

Nice :) so Sellwood over the boy wonder Cotchin then?
Just wondering if captaincy will bring the best out of him (ah la Sellwood)

Ringo

Flick a coin between Cotch and Selwood either of them would do the mid field job for you,

t.thomas6

Ok guys. Here is TEAM 3 :)
Look over it and comment on any further changes you'd make :)

Bank Balance: $2,600 (not much I know)

Nice thread tt6,

I would look at a few things like...

No mid / def DPP - ? Goodes in mids to allow
No ruck / fwd DPP - again find a cheap link as R4
No mid / fwd DPP - same story.

These links can save trades and despite having more this year, there will be people screaming out wishing they had planned better when they run low.

Backs are about 1/2 a player down - many teams have Yarran D5 - and back rookies aren't likely to score as well as mid rookies I reckon. Maybe a proven all year long player is better here.

Ablett is so expensive that I will wait a bit. The initial saving can help upgrade a rookie def to a premium ie 55 points to 95 possiby which more than covers the loss of Ablett's extra points even as captain over say Pendles or Swan.

I prefer others over Selwood and think Cotchin and Danger are going to be must haves.

SJ and Dustin worry me too.

A lot is opinion only but you asked for it.

Current team with 12 keepers and Yarran/ Leue and Dusty who may make it 15 and good rookies for now rate 8.5/10 and more with DPP provisions.

Good luck.

t.thomas6

Thanks tor :)
So what changes would you make? Player wise I mean? (i.e. who would you take out, put where or swap with whom???)

Let me know :) (if you could fill out the team with your changes and comments that would be perfect :) )

Cheer for you! :P

felsty

Almost identical team to me apart from Zorko in place of Birchall and a few rookie changes. I'm having trouble fitting Cotchin, Kennedy and Murphy into 2 spots :S

t.thomas6

Here we go fellas :)
Slight changes with tor's input

Basically swapped Sellwood to Cotchin, SteveyJ to the Tomahawk, Grundy to Rowe gives the FWD/RUCK link, K.Mitchell to B.Goodes gives the MID/DEF link and Crouch to Neade gives the MID FWD link.

Unfortunately I can't find room in my Salary Cap ($14,500) for another prem defender to push Yarran to D5...any ideas?

t.thomas6

P.S. And is the Tomahawk SteveyJ swap a good one? Or are there other options???

Comment awwwaaayyy!! haha :P

colmullet

hey mate, finally got on a comp to look at ya team :p

team looks really good to me, as far as the Tomahawk - Stevie J swap goes, they both have really high ceilings, i just think Tomahawk is less consistent being a KPP and will frustrate you some rounds

t.thomas6

Cheers Colmullet :) Cheer for you :P

I was thinking the same thing with SteveyJ...if he's played similar to last year I think he'll score well.

How about the backline? Reckon it's ok or should I find a way to get another mid-pricer in at D5?

barnsey70

backs- solid 8/10
mid- good start 7/10
rucks- no 4/10
fwds- ok 6/10
