ATHLETIC Brisbane Lions ruckman Matthew Leuenberger has completed his first full training session since tearing his achilles last April.

The 204cm West Australian got through an entire session with his teammates at the Lions’ training ground at Coorparoo on Thursday night to signify another big step in his comeback.

Leuenberger started the 2012 season with achilles tendonitis, but in round three against Fremantle suffered a slight tear.

What he thought would be a six-week injury turned into a season-ender.

I've got a bad feeling about Leuenberger. Would cause a lot of restructures if he went down again.

Not really a big issue with 44 trades.

Trade out an underperforming premo...

Will likely be one, e.g. 2012 Dustin Martin. Downgrade > Rook/Bubble Rook... Leuen > No.1 Ruck.

Sorry i meant if he went down before round 1. Completely agree if he goes down during the season

Adamant

Great news, we need him fit and firing for round 1.

Im not too sure about Leuey coming back from a torn achillies is one of the hardest injuries to come back from.

I probably won't start him on the ground couldn't risk him that highly after coming back from an achillies.

Roughead made a pretty good job of it last year :)

Tommy Rockliff says that Leuy might be fit Rnd 1. And as he is a ruck, I don't see him getting the vest. Hmmm...

Haha true. Which means they'll probably be playing Longer...

Ricochet

Longer could be a serious option until Leuey is fit
