O'Captain my Captain
Travis Boak was recently announced the 5th captain of Port Adelaide, Much has been put on the shoulders of the 24 year old, Bringing the clubs out of the depths and looking towards charging into the top 8. Will Boak's leadership prove a vital component of our drive to success? Only time will tell. Much speculation has surrounded the announcement of our new captain some claiming Port bribed Travis with the captaincy in an effort to keep Travis at the club.

Travis seems to play his best football fantasy style against Richmond where he has averaged 103 dream team points in 8 games.
Travis seems to play his worst football fantasy style against Essendon where he has averaged 74 dream team points in 7 games. (Travis has received an averaged of 62 against the Giants but thats after 1 match)

Kochy becomes our new president
In what was described as a "insult to good governance'' by Jeff Kennett, Koch aims to gain the respect of the football world by being a major part of Ports resurengce back up the ladder. "We will rebuild" the words Koch has said numerous times during the off season will the popular tv presenter be able to make a difference.

Hinkley gets the nod
The former Geelong great will become just the 5th coach of Port Adelaide, After playing 132 AFL games Ken tried out for the coaching position of Richmond, Saint Kilda and Geelong he comes to Port with fresh ideas and a new game style. Ken has the support of the playing group already with many saying he has made a immediate impact at the club.

The Premiums

Brad Ebert
Ebert became one of the most successful stories to come out of the 2012 season from not just a Port Adelaide view but a AFL view, The former 1st round draftee improved his average by an impressive 37 points, Thats right 37 points including 11 tons and a top score of 145 against Brisbane in round 22.

Brad Ebert's most successful teams
Gold Coast - 1 match - 124 average
GWS  - 1 match - 98 average
St Kilda  -  6 matches - 91 average
Richmond - 7 matches - 88 average
Adelaide - 8 matches - 84 average

Brad Ebert's least successful teams
Collingwood - 5 matches - 57 average
Carlton - 6 matches - 70 average
Fremantle - 9 matches - 75 average
Hawthorn - 6 matches - 75 average
Sydney - 3 matches - 75 average

Noz Prediction: Becomes one of the reliable fantasy players at Port Adelaide and will lead us in fantasy points, Improves his average by another 10 points for a 110 average.

Hamish Hartlett
The injury prone Hartlett will feature in the majority of fantasy teams with an average of 81 dream team points after playing 15 games, Hartlett has been granted a DPP (Dual Position Player) meaning you can select him in either the Midfield or Defence and being able to link up with other DPP players through out the season.

Hamish Hartlett's most successful teams
Gold Coast - 2 matches - 106 average
Melbourne - 1 match - 99 average
West Coast - 1 match - 95 average
Sydney - 4 matches - 90 average
St Kilda - 4 matches - 90 average

Hamish Hartlett's least successful teams
Western Bulldogs - 1 match - 30 average
Geelong - 1 match - 64 average
Adelaide - 5 matches - 64 average
Fremantle - 3 matches - 69 average
Essendon - 1 match - 69 average

Noz Prediction: If Hartlett can overcome his shaky hamstrings he can very well become a keeper and potential a must have for the 2013 season, Will improve his average by several points to gain a 95 average

Kane Cornes
What a career this man has had will go down as one of the best players we have produced in our short stint in the AFL, Will reach a great milestone reaching 250 games this season could even break the record for the most games ever played for Port Adelaide this season.

Kane Cornet's most successful teams
Collingwood - 12 matches - 103 average
West Coast   - 13 matches - 103 average
Western Bulldogs    - 10 matches - 101 average
Fremantle - 15 games - 101 average
Hawthorn - 15 games - 99 average

Kane Cornes's least successful teams
Adelaide - 17 matches - 84 average
Brisbane - 11 match - 85 average
Richmond - 13 matches - 88 average
Sydney - 11 matches - 89 average
Geelong - 12 match - 90 average

Noz Prediction: Cornes now 30 years old will have to do something drastic to gain a spot in your team with many younger players pushing for mid time, Cornes may find himself heading up forward more and more next year, Will still get enough mid time to get a decent 90 average.

Dont Pick me

Alipate Carlile
One of the better full back man in the AFL, Carlile is best known for his defensive work taking the oppositions best full forward and this does not result in high fantasy scores. Pick at your own risk

Alipate Carlile's most successful teams
Brisbane - 5 matches - 64 average
West Coast - 9 matches - 60 average
Melbourne - 8 matches - 59 average
Gold Coast - 2 matches - 56 average
Essendon - 6 matches - 51 average

Alipate Carlile's least successful teams
Richmond - 8 matches - 39 average
Adelaide - 10 matches - 41 average
Carlton - 7 matches - 41 average
Sydney - 6 matches - 45 average
North Melbourne - 9 matches - 47 average

Noz Prediction: Though Carlile is a great defender he is not one you want representing your fantasy teams the only reason i could think of picking him is if you want a defender who can play 22 games. I wouldn't be picking him and neither should you i predict an average of 50

Brett Ebert
Ebert has been a long serving member of the Port Adelaide team has had a great career at Port Adelaide playing 150 games kicking 217 goals and become our leading goal kicking for the 2007 season.

Brett Ebert's most successful teams
Essendon - 9 matches - 71 average
Gold Coast  - 2 match - 69 average
North Melbourne  -  12 matches - 68 average
Collingwood - 9 matches - 68 average
Sydney - 10 matches - 65 average

Brett Ebert's least successful teams
Fremantle - 11 matches - 49 average
Carlton - 9 matches - 53 average
St Kilda - 11 matches - 55 average
Western Bulldogs - 8 matches - 56 average
Richmond - 10 matches - 59 average

Noz Prediction: Unlike his cousin Brad, Brett is not a reliable player for your fantasy teams, Brett JS is slowly decreasing by each year and with numerous players eyeing his position 2013 may not be the best year for Brett. However i do believe he will get enough game time to be rewarded with a 60 average.

Good Work Noz.
2013 could be our strongest DT relevant year for a while mate.
Looking forward to your thoughts.

Noz

Greenmoon didn't realise you were a Port supporter good to see more and more coming to this forum.
Will be good to hear your thoughts as well down the track.

GM

Tbh mate pretty excited about this year.
Win,lose or draw i am sure we will play a better brand of footy.
Never say die attitude for me will go along way to getting more bums on seats.
Love the coaching group we have now.
Nothing against Matty but he was always up against with respect to a new fresh guy with loads of external ideas.
Everything smells of good vibes and the road up back where we belong.
Now,we supplied the winner of supercoach in 2012,lets one of us do it in DT land this year!

A showdown win and earning more respect from the competition is my goal for the year. 2012 was going very well until the last month or so, when we lost our coach and lost matches by over 10 goals for the first time in the year. :-\

I agree SS, all i'd love to see is us fight out games to the end. No worse feeling when we're in the game for 3 quarters and the opposition kick the lsat 5/6 goals with 15 minutes to go, that leaves a empty feeling in the gut

Ziplock

I still dont think sacking primus was the right move- despite what some people say, the club was clearly improving under him :/

Noz

The preview has began and i will be doing some more of it either later tonight or tomorrow hopefully i can have it up by Sunday night
Apologies that it has taking this long but please enjoy the first part.

Good reads, Noz! Definitely like the look of Brad Ebert and Hartlett, both in my DT. Haven't got them in my SC, but I'm thinking about it. Those write-ups under the news banner were good.  :)

I found out that Port Adelaide still played their chippity chip chip game last night. Might be a new coach, but when i found that out today, not exactly impressed. :-\ It might've worked vs a B Grade SANFL side in the Magpies, but vs an AFL side i don't think so. Sorta puts a hiccup in what's been a good off-season so far.

Port's direction now is at the directive of the AFL. Every move in the last 10 months, at player level, coaching level, board and club level has been under the pseudo control of AFL house. It's not officially in the public sector but it is understood and recognised by those in the know who truly is bankrolling Port and that every decision at Alberton is corporately managed by the Tv rights arrangement of Demetriou and co.
Take the emotion and history out of it, Port just hasn't got the demographic to sustain long term commercial interest. They have lost their identity. Opposition supporters used to hate, despise and be jealous of Port - now they just feel sad for them. They are no longer feared nor intimidate their opponents.
Primus unfortunately was a casualty of the 'no more jobs for the boys' attitude that had existed at Port and was culled out. Keith Thomas and David Koche are products of a model designed to move the clubs 'image' more into line with Afl house. Consider this Port supporters, if a coup takeover of Port by the afl was to immediately happen, wouldn't the backlash be catastrophic! That's why Demetriou is rolling it out slowly, so the ripple effect doesn't cause waves.
